Could Final Fantasy 7-9 ever be ported to the DS 2? Or does Sony have a grip on tose titles like Microsoft and Rare? Personally I would be eager to see these games on the next DS system. I am not interested in playing them on the PSP because I could just play them on my PS2.

Microsoft owns Rare, Sony does not own Square Enix or any of the Final Fantasy games. Assuming Nintendo's next portable is powerful enough to run them (which is not hard considering the PSP can play them), Square Enix could release any of the Final Fantasy games on it.

Good! The sooner the better! :cool;

What about the stylus? It is supposed to motion based? The next system should be called the Super Dual Screen.

If BioWare were making another DS game, I'd rather it be Mass Effect related than another Sonic game.

They are working on a sequel to the first game, but no word has been released lately. I really liked the first game and would like to have the sequel soon. As for a Mass Efeect game on the DS, Bioware has stated that they are interested in putting their franchises on the DS system.

Nintendo Gaming / Sonic Chronicles 2
« on: March 03, 2010, 09:54:04 PM »
I just came over from the Bioware forum where I posted on topics about the game Sonic Chronicles, the RPG game for Sonic the hedgehog. I posted for about a year and then the forum dried up and everyone left to never comment again. So, I though I would kick start the topic again on this forum and see where it leads.

Here are some of my comments from my old posts on that forum:

My plot of the sequel: The first part of game will consist of Sonic and co. being captured and imprisoned by Eggman. Eggman uses some kind of gas to disable the POW attacks. While captured, the Resistence, an Anti-Eggman force mad up of remnants of GUN and lead by Vector, storm Eggman's base after learning that sonic has returned. Once freed, Eggman assigns Metal Sonic with the task of Hunting down and eliminating both Sonic and the Resistence(two birds with one stone). The Resistence is eventually defeated and Sonic is forced to bring his allies from the Twilight Cage(perhaps even the Nocturnus)into the fight. Eventually, Eggman is defeated once again, but in retaliation he activates the Eclipse Cannon on the ARK/Death EGG to destroy Earth. As a result, the Argus event occurs and draws Eggman and his space ship into the Twilight Cage. All of this will consist of the first act, the second act will consist Sonic facing Argus and possibly the return of Lord IX.

I want the system to have really good feature. This is all pure speculation, which is the point of the post.

I guess Nintendo could include this stuff if they did it cheaply, which is higly likely considering their conservatism.

The DS 2 should have a built in rumble pack that can be turned on and off in the settings menu. What about storing the miis on the device's memory? A tilt sensor with motion and a stylus with force feedback sounds good. A virtual hand held service. about two to four Gigabytes of internal memory. How about the camera(if any?) should have the ability to play and record video. The DS 2 should have screen savers and a more robust game catalog from Nintendo(Star Fox DS). Improved speakers and a USB port for accessory support(ie Guitar grip).

You realize how much all of this would add to the price of the handheld correct?

How much?

No, he didn't use WiiSpeak. I think he had connection issues because I dropped out and rejoined then jropped out again while we were waiting for someone else.

I have a wii speak and actually heard some of you speaking, but the connection kept being interrupted. I tried to speak to all of you, but nothing happened.

If the DS 2 has a movie player, it will need a better battery. The current battery for the current DS system just does not seem like it could up long enough to watch a two hour movie. Perhaps it could have twice the battery life?

One thing that I hope will come from the next DS system is that it will be able to handle full 3-D better. What I am saying is games like COP: The Recruit would have better textures. Thiis would be important for games that I want to see on the portable device.  Games such as Madworld, No More Heroes, Mass Effect and Dead Space should have 3-D iterations on the next DS system. I know that the regular DS can play 3-D, but I want it to do more with fancier hard ware.

Madworld, No More Heroes, Mass Effect and Dead Space would all play like their console versions, but would combine their style with that of COP: The Recruit. Now, I know that game was kind of bad, but the development studios behind these games could make the gameplay muc better. Imagine the shooting sequences for COP being uses for Dead Space DS to take down Necromorphs.

I can not stand the 360, so I will never use Xbox live. How hard would it be to emulate these games? I have found a N64 for $20 and most of the Rareware games for less than $15, but I could not find Conker for under $20.

I might just save up my money and buy these IPs from Microsoft. I already have a piggy bank set up for the deal and any donations would be appreciated. I have five dollars saved. Come on now, we could get something going. LOL.(I am not really serious).

I feel like I am beating a dead horse, so I will just hunt the old games down and olay them on N64 and keep hoping that they will be released on the service. :-\

I thought of something this morning: Microsoft doesn't seem to mind Rare making games for Nintendo's handhelds, so how likely would it be for Rare's games to come to a hypothetical Virtual Console for the DS 2?

If that is the case, then why release them on the wii's virtual console instead?

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Monster Hunter Thwii
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:11:58 PM »
After playing the demo, I noticed that the camera and controls have problems that I hope Capcom fixes in the final release of the game. When you are fighting a group of enemies, the camera can get tanggled up and cause you to lose the ability to see what is going on. This is especially bad if you are in the midst of fighting a boss with a bunch of little monsters there to help him out.

Second. the controls are a little clunky. The demo has poor hit detection and it is very easy to miss your target and leave your self open for attack. Also, the character moves very slow, making it easy for enemies to chase you down.

Overall, the visuals fr the environment, characters and monsters looks fantastic. If capcom can fix these issues, there is no doubt that this game will be very speciel.

Is there any way to emulate the games on wii? Why did Nintendo let them go in the first place? How can they say that the best console games will come to the virtual console when these are obviously good and will probably never happen. I am almost brought to tears(not really ;) ) at the fact that Rareware titles will never come to the virtual console.

When you say that Nintendo wont share, they already do that with companies like Sqaure and others. I have heared that Rare said that they could port their games, but it would be up to Nintendo. It is probably Nintendo that is keeping these games from appearing the service.

When I watch Other M's CGI movies, I detect a hint of Mass Effect. Perhaps Nintendo is trying to invoke this artistic visualization in order to capture some of the fans of the Mass Effect series to buy the game. Jennifer Hale, who voiced the female Sheppard, alos did the grunts for Samus in the Prime series. I find it strange that she did reprise her role in this game. Perhaps because of what I stated above, no doubt.

I now that I have driven you all crazy about whether Rareware games will ever appear on VC and I understand that Microsoft owns the IPs now, but they should still be released on the wii. Nintendo must have financed these games and there must be some kind of way for them to get the games on their service. Afterall, the games were developed for a Nintendo console, so they should have some legal rights. I just can not let go of the fact that Microsoft owns these cool games(Conker and Perfect Dark). Is there some way tht they can split the profits? I mean, if Sony owned Rareware, I would not be as ticked off.

have you ever tried to fit a GC controller into your pocket?
how comfortable was that?

A portable system has to first be portable and functional before economical to hold in your hands otherwise we end up with another GameGear or Nomad.

Or Atari Lynx. ;D

It has been a long time since I heared that staement. So somethings might have faded from my memory. Basically Miyamoto said that Nintendo had to reinvent their style(ie motion controls).
