If Nintendo Wii U first and third party games could be sold at $49.99 rather than $59.99 like what is on the other systems then more people could be attracted to the Wii U for games.

Wii U Third Party Launch Titles:

Confirmed:

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
Assassin's Creed 3
Killer Freaks From Outer Space
Darksiders 2

Rayman Raving Rabbids
Untitled Sports game from Ubisoft

Probable or Unconfirmed:

Resident Evil 6
GTA 5
Mass Effect 3
Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City
Max Payne 3
Spec Ops: The Line
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Does anyone think that GTA V could release this year? Perhpas in october? The game could carry over to 2013 but the video we saw back in novmber kind of makes me think that the game has been in developmet for enough time that it could very well be out this year, but who knows? Right GTA (and possiblt RE 6) is the third party game that will make or break a Wii U purchase for me and that is what I am banking on right now.

Can someone put together a list of confirmed and probablr third party launch titles for the Wii U?

NWR Forums Discord / This Guy Reminds Me of John Lindemann
« on: March 07, 2012, 12:06:48 AM »
The guy with the glowing eyes and red cape kind of reminds me a little of John Lindemann. The planet Ne'Tu that is mentioned could be the NWR forum and that bald headed guy with the one-eyed could be one of the forum moderatos such as Vudu. The two guys in red armour could be Unlce Bob and someone else. Finally, the guy with the metal grafted to his face in the fourth and fifth video could be Neal since he replaces the hooded guy as the main villain.

I was thinking instead of a hood they should have given him a coon skin cap, so then he would be like a Davy Crockett type assassin, which would have been accurate because Davy Crockett was from that era (more or less). But then PETA probably would have got upset and boycotted the game or something like that. If you kill people in a video game that's no big deal, but have the game depict someone wearing fur then that's a "no-no".

Davvy Crockett was born in 1786, so considering the possible time period of this game Crockett would have been a young child, or not even born yet. Crockett actually fought and died in the Alamo, so it is possible that a future Assassin's Creed game could take place in that location, or even in the wild west of the cow boy days.

I always wanted an Assassin's Creed game set in feudal Japan during the Tokugawa Shougunate.

Tenchu games. Acquire and From Software has got you covered. That is unless you really want an open-world level structure.

Those Tenchu games leave something to be desired and an Assassin's Creed game would fill that desire much better than any Tenchu game that I have played so far.

Maybe we could get remastered version of RE 2 and 3 for the eShop?

The sequel that I am looking most forward to is Sonic Chronicles 2. The first game was released back in the fall of 2008 and then Bioware has been quiet about the sequel ever since. There have been runours of them working on it, but I really hope that they announce a sequel at this year's E3 for the 3DS.

I would actually prefer a d-pad similar to the one found on the NES controller to be used with the uMote controller.

so once a new system is released I always add my previous console's games to the succeeding system's library to save my self the hassle of clutter and being dependant on too many systems at once.

The Wii was Nintendo's first console to have BC, so why did it suddenly become so important to you then?

Chozo, how do you consider GameCube to be a flop? It was profitable, and it sold quite well (not Wii numbers, but still OK). Do you consider Xbox to be a flop too? It and GameCube basically sold the same amount.

The reason Bc is important to me is that I once owned a PS1 with a large assortment of games and then I bought a PS2, so all my PS1 games carried over and I sold my older console. The Wii was the first Nnitendo console that I officially owned for myself. I played a NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube before, but never had one for my personal use. The Wii presented a perfect opprotunity. Not only did it play Gamecube games, but it also played certian retro games via the Virtual Console.

1187
The main reason that I have been hesitant about buying a PS3 besides the price is the fact that I can not play my PS2 games on the PS3. Granted that I could always keep my old system, but I believe in uniformity, so once a new system is released I always add my previous console's games to the succeeding system's library to save my self the hassle of clutter and being dependant on too many systems at once.

In fact, I bought a Gamecube right before I bought my Wii because I want to have to access to all the Gamecube titles that I missed. When I realized the Wii could play Gamecube games I sold the Gamecube and used BC to play the games instead. The only thing that pissed me off about the Wii was that it was not compatible with the Game Boy Player. Overall, I prefer backwards compatibility and that is the way it is going to stay for me for the forseeable future.

After a fairly slow and confusing start it got much better, really loving the combat so far. It was just the intro combat bit and then being dropped into a town with lots of exposition that killed my enthusiasm at first.

There are some major framerate problems in larger battles though, really difficult to properly take cover and do those surprise attacks.

Is that tiger a good guy or bad buy?

Yes. Nintendo games, for whatever reason, retain their value (probably because they're the best games on their respective systems). Do note, however, that within about three months of its release, Other M was almost in the bargain bin.

I paid full price for that game and I am not sure whether I like or hate it. Just whne I start to like It then I begin to hate it. Those pixel were the worst and the final boss/cinematic was such a bad idea in developer terms because it does not allow you to save or get health before fighting MB. Such a pain in the ass final battle.

It's not like you can't buy NEW copies of OLDER games. I just looked for Odin Sphere on eBay. It's right there, for a perfectly reasonable sum of money. And keep in mind that retail games ALWAYS drop in price. So six months after its release, Halo 6 is going to be $40. Dude, you can buy ODST at Target for $10. YEARS after that game's initial release. People buy used games because they're cheaper. But the point is, ALL games drop in price before long.

Heck, I was Play 'n' Trade selling the original Uncharted for $40 (used) when new copies had been dropped to $30.

Why is Donkey Kong Country Returns still selling for $40 plus dollars nealry two years after its release? Is it because it is a Nintendo game?

How does Last Story remind you of Final Fantasy IX? I have noticed this myself, but I have not been able to explain how the two compare to each other.
Have you seen Final Fantasy X-XIV? The Last Story looks like the opposite if that. It's old-school Final Fantasy, not that George Lucas-esque BS Square Enix has been passing off as Final Fantasy for the past decade.

Xenoblade and Last Story seem to be the modern day equivalent to both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. Granted that those two titles will always be reveered by RPG fans the world over, I do see Xenoblade and Last Story as being spiritual successors in the sense of redefining the RPG. They certainly rekindled my interest that was killed off by Final Fantasy 13.

The best games on the Final Fantasy series will always be VI, VII, VIII and IX. Those game kicked ass and really made the series shine, of course that was when Sakaguchi was still with Sqaure though. Looking at Final Fantasy 13 I can see where the real talent in that series went to after he left the company.

I wonder if Sakaguchi and Mistwalker would work with Square on Final Fantasy XV under contract? It would interesting to see the next console Final Fantasy go back to its roots in the same manner as FF IX did back when it was released.

@Gameboy Freak

Which one seems more interesting to you? If I absolutely had to pick one, I would personally go with The Last Story. It reminds me of Final Fantasy IX, the last major non-Mario RPG I really liked. If you're undecided, you might want to pick up whichever one gets the more limited release which seems like Xenoblade since it's only available in stores from a single retailer though The Last Story is probably not getting a huge print run.

Does the main villain of this game remind anyone of Ganon? I am talking about that red haired guy with the bad attitude? He reminds me of Ganon from Legend of Zelda.

It would be nice if some professional third party game accessory company developed a pulse rifle replica that either allowed a Wiimote to be placed inside like the Top Shot Elite or a replica with a Wiimote already built inside of it with a camera on the barrel. Oh, and there should be an option to have the gun sound effects when the trigger is pulled. As for the uMote, a motion tracker could be made to house the controller as well.

The big question remaining is whether Operation Rainfall has been sucessful and should cease opertions today with just these few titles or should we still support Pandora's Tower despite the likelyhood of it appearing in North America being a whole lot slimmer than the other games? Honestly, despite all the draw backs pertaining to Pandora's Tower, I still want that game in my collection, but without the trouble of importing it.

TalkBack / Re: Xseed Bringing The Last Story to North America

There is still a chance we could get Pandora's Tower. If Xseed were to release Last Story in say may or june of this year then we could get Pandora's Tower in maybe july or august of this year. Of course I do not think that Xessed or Nintendo will publish this game in North America due to its content. There is always Atlus. Atlus releases games in limited quantities, so even if the demand for the game is low, Atlus would still have the capacity to satisfy the people who want this game. So, we very well could have all three games by the time the Wii U is launched.

Edit:

Even if 50,000 people buy Pandora's Tower in North America, Atlus is good at publishing games in small enough quantities that 50,000 would still be a good margin for profits for them to handle.

I will not be truelly convniced that Nintendo has all third party developers on board for the Wii U until I see developers that have traditionally avoided Nintendo home console such as Rockstar and Epic to name a few. Most of the third party developers already announced for the Wii U have worked with Nintendo consoles in the past, so until I see the bigger players dabbling with the Wii U then I will wait and see what happens. Do not get me wrong, I like the games already announced, but until Resident Evil 6, GTA 5 and Mass Effect 3 are revealed for the Wii U, then Nintendo still has ways to go before  turning over a new third paty leaf. We will have to wait and see what happens at this year's E3 to know for sure.

Back to Ninja Gaiden. The PS3 version Ninja Gaiden 3 will support the PS Move, which is a motion controller, so can the Wii U version be played with the Wiimote Plus or CC Pro?

Tecmo Koei's Ninja Gaiden 3 announcement for gamescom is that the game will fully support PlayStation Move. There are unfortunately no other details beyond that basic

I actually owned the DS Ninja Gaiden and I made it to the first boss. Once I fought the first boss of the game there was very little chance to beat him so I turned the game back into Gamestop for store credit. Although I would love to play Ninja Gaiden 3 for the Wii U as long as there is a more balnced difficulty.
