I revisited Alleyway a few months ago and found it to be very uninteresting. Kirby's Block Ball and Thunder & Lightning are my favorites in this genre.

Hey. Instead, why not check out last week's Radio Trivia. It was a pretty good episode.....

I have to agree. I'd much rather see Super Star on VC and a new Kirby game. This just validates Nintendo & HAL have forgotten how to make a good Kirby game (see Squeak Squad), so they have to port an old game instead. Also, the updated graphics have me worried, as I thought the original had great graphics (which were pillaged for the GBA Kirby games).

Did you like the second and third games?  Let your fellow listeners know! Think you've got a better choice? Send it my way and your request may be the third game next Radio Trivia: Podcast Edition!  Heck, throw in a question and specific songs if you want.  Just remember, it has to be a game found on a Nintendo system in North America (unless we say otherwise)!

I just wanted to point out that Vicarious Visions is wholly owned by Activsion.

What's stopping people from buying from places like Amazon?
In theory, nothing. That's where I went when I couldn't find a copy in a store. But guess what, it's only available through 3rd party vendors STARTING AT $65!

I can't find a copy of Mario Kart Wii now that I want one. Awesome.

The original is still the best value I've gotten out of my DS. Cleaning up the multiplayer connection reliability and expanding upon the custom / expansion soundtracks = INSTAWIN

Did this only have a left side audio track or are my headphones broken?
I don't hear anything wrong with the file. Perhaps you didn't have you headphone jack in all the way?

Nah, Wario Land 1 is good and all, but the series really is all about the puzzle-plaftormer, with immortal Wario and his zany transformations.

I'm trying *not* to get excited about this game, because I will most likely be disappointed. The "level" descriptions and vehicles leave me thinking this will be closer in game design to Wario Land 4 than 2 or 3.... Though any Wario Land game should be welcome after Master of Disguise (bleh)

His blog entry is lengthy, well-written, and more thought out than I'd really expect to see in a blog medium.  Obviously, since we're in the "Staff Blog" talkback section, the question is silly.

TalkBack / Re: Gaming at 120Hz
« on: May 29, 2008, 12:43:09 AM »
Gee guys, thanks for ruining my HDTV experience. Now I know about and see input lag.

...Well, actually, there were a few times when I got annoyed w/ being slightly off in my timing when playing--now I know why! I don't know if the 120Hz feature is contributing to or the reason for additional lag, even when turned off. The game mode gets rid of any perceivable lag at the expense of processing, making the picture a bit raw-looking. I guess that makes sense--rawer picture lag-free versus prettier picture slightly laggy is a fair trade. Different modes for different games.

My TV seems to handle SD / 480p just fine, without any additional lag problems. ....A shame I can't adjust contrast/sharpness/etc when in "Game Mode" on my TV--the setting is close to my desired setting, but, slightly off with Sharpness stuck at 50.
