Nintendo Gaming / RE:Zelda Vs. Xbox 360 Commercial

And that's the trailer i'd put on the ad. The whole 'Blades will bleed ...' stuff would really influence people as there are some fantastic sequences in that trailer.

EDIT: I've shown 3 non-GC owning people (who all own xbox's but used to own 64's ) that trailer and each of them is planning to buy a Cube just for Zelda.

Interesting...(or fake)

30,000 votes later (82,xxx) the percentages per console are exactly the same, exactly...

Ummm.  In most PS2 games X is confirm and O is cancel. Highly logical. Ha.

Edit: Also the XBox muddled up the whole ABXY setup as well be reversing the positions. Whyyyyyyy!!! Curse you.

I reckon that's a fantastic idea. I've got like boxes and drawers full of controls and I'd love to actually use the right controller for the right system.  The feeling just isn't there if you use the wrong controller.

(okay maybe a little bit of overkill )

Ive read tons of bashing of MM in many forums, "the time thing sucks","its too hard", "it doesnt feel like a Zelda game", only very recently I found I wasnt the only one who liked it. And its true that among Zelda fans the game is very liked, but so is tWW, while OoT and LttP are universally loved, very deservedly of course, but Id like more of that universal love for the other Zelda games.

What was so hard about it? I'm struggling to remember any one moment that I had problems with. Except for a power outage whe I was almost finished with the Great Bay Temple. It was a great game with a great mechanic.

Back to TP. I love the idea of saving a land that will be later doomed, (then saved again....). It's similar to Ep III in that no matter what you do the future is inescapable. Evil times are ahead. It's sad, but oh-so intriguing. Or in LOTR speak "We must all do what we can with the time given to us.'

I thought Ep III was way better than I expected.

Exceptions
1. The light-switch turn of Anakin to the dark side.
2. Vader's cliched "Noooooooo!" upon hearing of Padme's fate. I shudder.
3. General Grievous was useless, I believe that Darth Maul should have been the main evil focus until Anakin became Sidious' apprentice. Obviously this would have affected Dooku aswell.
4. C-3PO, Chewbacca were token appearances.
5. etc

Speaking on the 'mystery' of the universe discussion, I like not knowing, eg about Boba Fett. Finding out about his back story reduces some of the mystique.

I loved the spirit netherealm story. It comes full circle with Obi-Wan's "If you strike me down Darth" line in Ep IV

It does make sense though.  Aries is the GOD OF WAR to the Greeks (interchangable with Mars for the ROmans as the same name), and he may be bringing a Trojan Horse to the battlegound today.
Though, Aries is also the constellation between Taurus and Pices (bull, and 2fish)  And in his constellation form, Aries is a ram.  The constellation of Aries is regarded as the first sign of Astrology.  Astrology - that is to say the recorded symbology of the constellations- first came about around 2,000 years ago.  The sun sets and rises at a point on the horizon, and when Astrology was concieved of, the sun rose (or set, I can't recall) right in front of the constellation of Aries on the horizon.

So Aries was viewed as the "first" constellation.

I believe that the correct spelling for the Greek God of war was Ares not Aries

but, they should, IMO, use the annivesary to their advantage, even if it is a 'hey! remember this?' sorta way. kinda 'we've been doing this longer and better than our competition' sorta thing.

Wasn't it confirmed (by Reggie?) that Mario 128 would be shown at E3.

« on: May 17, 2005, 07:37:55 PM »
According to IGN the GB Micro uses a proprietary ext. port which combines the functions of ext.1 and ext.2 on the GBA SP. Therefore a unique link cable will be required. Bad news indeed if true.

Good news is that standard headphones (eg from CD players) should work.

*Hopes for adaptor for existing link cables packed-in.

It looks fantastic, the Game & Watch of 05! Woo!

I need a second GBA for Four Swords Adventures anyway. Assuming of course that GBA-GCN cables can connect to this little beauty.

Really good summary Bill.

I do agree with Hostile though on the mini-boss / boss issue. It seems more likely that you'll need to get your boomerang back to use throughout the rest of the dungeon (ala Jabu Jabu's belly) as opposed to receiving it at the end of the dungeon.

That's wishful thinking there!

I agree with your other points about pay-for-games type plans. It's definately a great sweetener along with the fact that online play will be free (has this been 100% confirmed for Rev?).

How does it work though? Will only those particular game discs work or will downloading rom / iso's be involved? Or even worse would one have to buy an X360 compatible version?

It is all in the eyes. The Tekken guy has this glazed over expression!

The graphics do look lovely though, except for the body hair on the boxers in Fight Night, which doesn't seem to have received the same level of attention as the sweat shower. Granted it's not very important.

That would be too sweet. I haven't played TA for ages. The only Tetris type game that could actually hold the same coloured candle as Tetris. The shade was slightly different though.

Yeah I heard you can use it as a boomerang/ remote control to turn off your PS3 by throwing it at the console before seeing it magically return to you. Nintendo really need that design if they want next-gen Zelda realism.
