Thanks for the nice review. I'm thoroughly sold on this game now.

The Wii version of the original only sold around 120k-130k. Though it seems to gain about 10k a month the last couple months I've noticed.

I'm hoping they decide to try again on Wii since EA said they are shifting over resources to mostly support Wii with all their games.

I'll finish the game once NovaQ's friend arrives in the post.
You did remember to leave food and water in the box right?

I want to get a GB Player but my Cube broke shortly before I got a Wii. When I have more money I plan to grab a new Cube and a GB Player because I would like to have another option for playing GB games at home.

The thing is options to eliminate threats make the game less scary. They could give you the option of hopelessly flailing an object at the enemy and then getting killed...

I can't think of anything in particular for an example, but I recall times where you had the option to try and fight enemies but they are invincible. I know RPG's like to let you fight a powerful character at some point where you are supposed to be beaten by it.

I just thought of some examples. Skies of Arcadia there is a Boss you cannot beat the first time you fight him.
Chrono Trigger there is also a boss like that.
Sometimes you just have to last a certain amount of time.
But these are just special fights, I can't think of any game where you cannot kill most enemies with traditional weapons. Maybe Nemesis from Resident Evil games though you do stop them in some cases, they just keep coming back. The Dahaka in Prince of Persia Warrior Within is also unbeatable.

Also I think that a point in Eternal Darkness was to feel empowered to kill monsters with an assortment of weapons instead of feeling helpless with a limited number of rounds like the old RE games.

I guarantee that we will see this game at E3. I don't believe for a minute that this one won't come to America. Sure Disaster hasn't come (yet) and may never, but this game and that are on completely different levels.

It seems to me like IGN got the standard PR response from Tecmo. Their hands are clearly tied. I just don't see how IGN takes the word of Tecmo alone and some statement made from Reggie a year ago, put it together and deduce that the game will never come out here.

Until everyone involved comes straight out and says "We will never release this in America" I don't believe this for a minute. You know what, as a matter of fact, if we don't hear anything before E3 I will make it my personal mission to find out what's going on with this game for you guys.

You are my forum hero Mr. Jack, sir! :)

Yeah, I know about Cubivore. That was done because Nintendo let Atlus do it. Atlus has asked Nintendo if they could localize other games and had mixed success (Atlus wanted to release Mother 3 here but Nintendo told them no). I just hope that if Nintendo decides not to release the game here that they will let someone else do it.

That is interesting that they did try to publish Mother 3. I'll bet that was the creators refusing to let their baby go. Letting someone else publish a game like that could lead to the game getting changed too much since Atlus would be overseeing the translation process.

What the hell is Nintendo doing? Where are the new A+ games???

This is coming out next month from Nintendo
Might not fit your bill for A+ but it is a new 1st party game with an original IP.

The Tecmo guy probably repeated a standard line when it comes to games they don't own the rights too. "We don't have the rights so we aren't involved in game X being brought to NA".

XSeed wants to release it so they will hopefully be our saviors once again.

Am I crazy or was XSeed looking into publishing the game here in NA?

Endless Ocean 2 will come out here. The first was a million seller so it would be crazy to not bring it over.

There are a lot of Dance Dance Revolution games on the PS2. I love those games.

I'm hoping for a belated Wii release in the next couple months but if I don't see a sign soon I'll get the PC version.

I loved the first on Wii. I love that era and find it a lot more interesting than the big GTA games.

Yeah, I was up super-late the night before.  I look like a zombie.
He's just trying to get hits from the zombie craze that has been storming consoles this generation. Maybe the RSS feed should say "Zombie Luthor Eats DSi Box's Brains"

"Zombie Luthor Eats DSi Box's Brains to the sounds of roaring applause!"

I am wondering if they will be connecting the stories of the different games. If they do this one looks to be farther in the future as technology seems to be more advanced. If all the FFCC games are together then it would probably go: FFCC, Rings, Echoes and then Crystal Bearers. Though I haven't played Echoes so I don't know if it occurs before Rings or not.

It was a major title for me, GP. I was always interested in the series before and Suda's involvement made me even more interested in it.

Especially when some of these games are coming to Europe I don't see much of an excuse for NoA to not follow suit. The game is already translated to English and the game doesn't need to be optimized or anything like in the PAL regions as Japan and NA TV's work the same. Most Nintendo games break even sales wise so I fear it is NoA and their ridiculous image concerns.

Doom on them.

Let's replace the blood with black dust and see if that changes the rating!

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time did that with sand and it got a T rating.

I'm with Luigi Dude on this, I think it will show up at E3 in one form or another.

It will go back to being more of an on-rails game and people will complain about the on-rails part of it. ;)

Ha! Pap is for the people! He doesn't listen to mean users with vendetta filled ban lists. Vote for Pap!

So it was just your head that was dumb and not the rest of your body? ;)

I wish I still had the holo boxes from the N64 Zeldas. I used to keep them all but when we moved my parents convinced me to toss most of them and over time I gave up more and more of them. I might have saved those ones but I haven't found them in years so I'm assuming I did give them up. At least I still have the gold carts.

I don't know anybody who says they want something they don't, especially when it comes to video games.

It's more people saying they would pay for something and then not buy it if it is made.

I played Metroid 2 for a little bit when i won it off eBay a month ago but I'm saving it now for when it comes up on the RetroActive. I've got two Metroids so far in the game and it seems pretty interesting.
