Nintendo NZ = ZERO advertising, incredibly poor distribution.

Dethroned Emperor: cEvin has one other solo album "The Ghosts Of Each Room" already out and a new solo album "The Dragon Experience" coming July 7

Also, you know there is a new Skinny Puppy EP as well as an LP coming soon, right?

$50-$100 is f**kload for a concert.

I say Skinny Puppy, Ministry, ohGr, Download, Joy Division, The Tear Garden, The Cure, New Order, Dead Voices On Air, Revolting Cocks, Cabaret Voltaire and Sonic Youth all are good listening.

Each to his own of course, however.

Let 's wait and see. The end of 2004 is a LONG way away. Remember the PocketStation? Thought not. I think it would be wise for Nintendo to simultaneously release GBA2 and Gamecube2 on the same day, early 2005, come out in full force. Hopefully around a month before Sony.

"Q1/Q2 2004
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour

Nintendo Puzzle Collection
Kirby Air Ride
Mario Tennis
Pokémon Colosseum
Paper Mario
Star Fox 2"

That's a long goddamned time to wait. Get your act together Nintendo, all the big Sony and Xbox releases are almost simultaneous these days, that is a pathetic showing. Although applause for Wario World.

Paper Mario too? Did I miss something? Isn't this game like 3 years old and on the Nintendo 64?

Very cool Sega rocking as usual. Billy Hatcher, F-Zero GX, Sonic Heroes, Knight n' Knight (lame title, though), Virtua Fighter Quest and Super Monkey Ball 3! I'm almost more excited about their line up than Nintendo's!

Now Sega, send us some of that Headhunter 2 and Shenmue 3 goodness and i'll love you forever... promise!

Don't you mean the time you spent with you're NES and SNES EMULATORS? I mean, I figure you're around 12 or 13.

Interesting read, notably Steven Kent, the IGN boys and the PGC boys and the guy from N-sider were the most interesting, managing to stay rather level-headed.
Sadly, the others weren't so impressive. Notably Tim (?) from Cube-Europe's responses aren't worth publishing let alone reading. Quite the fanboy, playing to every typical trait.

Seems any Joe Bloggs can whip up a website in Frontpage and get their opinion out there. The down side of the internet, huh?

Until they do a version on OS X or Linux, this one gets left behind by me. Looks neat though, makes me wish Gamecube had more RPGs with that lovely art direction. Or more RPGs full stop.
The bandwidth must be KILLING them.

TalkBack / RE: Infogrames becomes Atari
« on: May 09, 2003, 12:02:36 AM »
SIlks: You're joking right? You almost had me there.

Let's take a little look at Atari history on atari.com

"Atari (formely Infogrames) was founded in 1983, and since that time has had quite a journey to become one of the leading global publishers in digital interactive entertainment software."

Confusing, no?

What is wrong with the name Infogrames anyway?

I see it like this: they're not Atari, they never were and who the f**k do they think they are masquerading as such?
It is just ridiculous. Plus, the type of looser who'd by a game just because it had Atari plastered on it is the type of looser I wouldn't want purchasing my products. My personal Infogrames boycott starts today.

To me Atari means River Raid, Pitfall, Pacman, Moon Patrol, Ka-Boom! and most of all simplistic but incredibly addictive gameplay. Not that crap-fest "Stuntman".

EDIT: I should point out that I am well aware several of the above games were not made by Atari but Activision and Williams. It's just they were on 2600.

Nintendo Gaming / OFFICIAL Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes Discussion
« on: May 01, 2003, 12:15:46 AM »
Actually it is up on videogames.com

Great news, Silicon Knight's Eternal Darkness was superb and hopefully they'll bring the same quality over to this. I hope Kojima has a fair amount of input however, just to make sure the Metal Gear atmosphere is there in full force. Well Final Fantasy and Metal Gear in 2003!  It's like 1999 on the PSX all over again!

The United States once again proves it is the real tyrant in the world. Not Saddam Hussein.
The United States is helping Iraq get rid of their repressive dictator. Maybe one day they'll get rid of their own - the rich white male.
The United States is ignoring the world body in the U.N. look what happen last time countries began circumventing the world body (the League of Nations)... World War II. You say it is neccessary, how come all of of a sudden, they've had 12 years, 5 since weapons inspections stopped. If it is neccessary how come a mere 3 countries are behind it? I'm proud to live in a country where the government has taken a stance against U.S. terrorist acts against the Iraqi people.

NO WAR

General Gaming / System Failures?
« on: March 16, 2003, 05:44:17 PM »
There are 3 Genesis systems in the U.S. The Mega Drive 2 is the PAL/JAP eqivalent to the 2nd U.S. revision. All 3 rev. work with SegaCD while the last (3rd) rev. isn't compatible with the 32X (the other two ARE). Both Mega Drives are compatible with 32X and MegaCD as they are just PAL versions of Genesis rev. 1 and 2. Confusing, yes?

edit: PIAC,  here is some CD32 info. See what a little googling does?

Saturn wasn't an add-on, fool. Also there never really was a "Atari 5800".
Dreamcast, had the most successful console launch in history and actually sold pretty decently. Even now there is more Dreamcasts out there than Gamecubes.

Add to the list:

Atari's Jaguar (inc. Jag CD)
Sega Master System (well, in the U.S., anyway)
Apple's Pippin spec
Panasonic's M2 (scrapped a couple of months from launch, but millions and millions poured in to development)
Magnavox's Odyessey2
FMTowns Marty
Bandai's Playdia
Amiga CD32
Philips CD-I
Pioneer Laseractive

my master system, because none of the control pads work very well anymore, the sound doesn't work and it only hooks up via RF. if i want to play SMS i put the sms disc i did for my dreamcast in.

General Gaming / Theory on why MGS2:Substance was named what it was
« on: March 05, 2003, 05:34:46 PM »
This is an entirely useless post, but anyway...

If anyone has played "Snatcher" on Sega CD they'll know the bad guys in the game are known as "Joy Division". This is because one of Hideo Kojima's favorite bands are Joy Division (a late 70's British rock band). Now, Joy Division released a retrospective album after their demise in the late 80's titled "Substance", and there, is the link. It only struck me today.

Kojima must like Joy Division a hell of alot.
