I don't know there is two conflicting reports. Both seem to agree that Europe will be a few weeks late because of manufacturing cost. So it's either coming in October (Which there were earlier rumors of because that's when ACIII releases.) or November when Nintendo usually releases its hardware.

This is funny that this came out soon after the CVS report on Europe's date "slipping" to December because the tablet manufacturing problems. I guess some online stores put up November 14th as the release date in Europe yesterday. So it kind of supports that they may be having problems with the tablet but Europe will a few weeks later and they will release the Wii U in late October in Japan/US. So that means they will probally have their unveiling the last full week of August if they conform to what they did with the Wii

General Gaming / Now is a good time for E3 to change.
« on: June 11, 2012, 12:00:02 PM »
It seems that this E3 was the last E3 in LA; with renovations being done to the expo center moving them out next year and the issues currently with the construction of Farmer's Field it seems that the ESA is looking for possible new locations for the show. The current locations being considered are rumored to be New York, Chicago, New Orleans or San Francisco.

With them changing locations now would be a good time for them to reevaluate the show and it relevance to the market. The glorious E3 of days past use to be as some put “Christmas for gamers” with a barrage of announcements and new sights on the expo's floor. Now the bigger developers and console manufactures prefer using their own channels and platforms to introduce new titles so they can control the message and the exposure the games get the last two E3's have been for lack of a better word flat and unable to recapture the excitement they lost when they “slimmed” down the show.

Since the show is now not a place for the “hot new” announcements they may want to change the show from industry only to a more accessible format such as Gamescom or the Tokyo Game Show has. Where the first few days is industry only with a day or two for gaming enthusiasts to get a first look of what is going to hot in the next few months.

And they may be leaning towards the direction the location of E3 was chosen because it was an industry only event and with the majority of developers and console producers having their headquarters on the west coast and west coast location was the way to go. But only one of the four rumored location are located on the west coast.

New York and Chicago are great places to locate to since both are fairly accessible Chicago boasting one of the biggest international airports and a more “tourist friendly“ and New York while not as cheap as Chicago is located in one of the highest population densities in the US.

Also by opening it up to the public can also boost potential exposure to titles shown at the show, which may help give the show a better chance to be the place that new hot titles get announced at.

Oh good the multiplayer mode was interesting when they showed it off last year and was worried when they announced that Freaks became Zombi. So it is still in and seems they improved it.

TalkBack / Re: E3 May Not Return to Los Angeles
« on: June 11, 2012, 09:27:27 AM »

If they do that it may be a good time to try and change the show up a little bit. I since some have been complaining there were not many game announcements which is one of the "big things" that made E3. I think it is time they try and do something like Gamescom and maybe hold it closer to the "holiday" season to become a definitive showcase for the games coming out for the holidays and in to the next year..

And if they change it to the East Coast/Midwest I may start going again. It was just too expensive for me (flight etc) in LA.

I'm not saying Nintendo doesn't need E3, they just, like Sony and Microsoft, don't need E3 as a platform to announce new titles. They are just going through the motions and presenting the stuff that is coming out soon. I mean they could of shown Fire Emblem but they didn't. Why the best answer is probably because localization will not be done until late-2012-to-mid-2013, so why take time and effort to show and announce something that will not be out in months.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U
« on: June 07, 2012, 01:52:53 PM »
I just read a Time magazine article that mentioned Wii U only has 8GB of flash storage. Was this ever confirmed? I haven't read it anywhere else.
There was a neogaf post that had the supposed spec of the final dev kits, the spec sheet just list flash memory. But the list on neogaf lists 8GB.

83
Yes they did. I watched them all. And I asked why. It seems Nintendo is using E3 to sell games that are already in the mind of people or coming out soon. Which actually is kind of a good marketing move. (Not to mention in the long run it can be cheaper for them to do it this way.)

They also have the Nintendo Channel and the 3DS show to also help. The thing is they don't need E3 for new announcements any more. It is a better use of their time and effort to sell the products that are coming out, instead of spreading their show thin. I think Sony recently made a comment that their advertising it getting spread thin so they may make less games and market them more. Nintendo view is marketing the stuff that is coming and leave the rest for a more apporate time.

Nintendo Gaming / The possible reason for Nintendo's "lackluster" E3.
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:25:32 PM »
I sat down last night after Nintendo's 3DS software show case to digest the information that had been presented the last few days. I took time to ask myself the question: “If I was Nintendo why wouldn't I show next to no new content?”

It really wasn't that they had a bad show, it was more like they avoided to reveal that much new information. The answer sudden came to me, Nintendo doesn't need to use E3 as a platform to announce new content. It benefits Nintendo more to show off the content that is coming in the next few months to the press as a why to advertise those product.

I the past year Nintendo has been nurturing it own information dissemination channels Nintendo Direct and various Press and fan events around the globe. These are better platforms to announce new titles as their release date draws close.

There was a study of sorts down a few years ago that came to the conclusion that the “sweet spot” as it where for a title where the two months before the release upto two week after where the title would be in the collective conscience of consumers, before the the “next big thing” takes the spot light. So the titles that would benefit the most from showing at E3 are the ones that are going to be released this summer. And this is what Nintendo has concentrated on, the 3DS titles that will be out this summer into early fall.

Sure they also released information on the up coming WiiU console but they main worked on keeping titles that had already been announced fresh in the market's mind, and these are the titles that will be launching in the two-to-three month period of the launch window. The few “new” titles we learned about where ZombiU, SiNG and P100. But since the WiiU is still a little over 5 months away, according the rumors, there will be a better time to show off the WiiU and it's launch titles. Which is what Nintendo intends to do since an event that only announces the release date and price would be a little short on content.

So we should be hearing more about the WiiU, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and a lot of the other items that we had hoped to hear something about at E3. And the fact that after the 3DS show Reggie accidentally leaked that Fire Emblem is in localization, should be proof enough that Nintendo is no longer using E3 as a platform for announcments.

Nintendo also made news a few months ago when the decided not to attend Gamescom but instead hold evens themselves, we much remember that going to these events cost the company money and it may have been decided that it would be cheaper to this route. Also the new information platforms they use also don't cost very much to use, so from this point forth I doubt that Nintendo will have a “big show” in any of the old expos.

This maybe what Iwata was talking about when he said it would allow people playing single player games to compete against one another. Having a ranking system for levels is one way of doing it.

TalkBack / Re: Wii U 'Miiverse' Social Functionality Revealed
« on: June 03, 2012, 08:26:36 PM »
Yeah the integration of their network is probally way ahead of what people expected Nintendo to come out with. Even in teaser form, can't wait until the hardware discussion event in a few days.

It seems they have gleemed some of the best social integration of a few games like Dark Soul and brought them together. It seems they are planning something a kind to a love child between Live and Facebook.

I would potentially make an interesting Wii U game, since the console can be used in a similar fashion as the DS/3DS

I remember getting kind of lost in the Louvre with my group when I went there on French club trip. (It was for Junior and Senior to go visit for two weeks.) I found the French crown jewels in our wonderings in a more dusty part of the museum.

This brought a smile to my face when I read it. Love Pokemon and SRPGs. This is going to be another day one purchase.... Nintendo is making extremely poor this year.

I like the controls (at least the one I set up), I'm a lefty and don't yet have the CPP, so I move with the circle pad and aim with the buttons. Haven't had too many problems this setup yet.

Well my phone died so I don't have the pictures so instead I will give you my recipes for Hunter Stew and Sour and Spicy Ramen.

Hunter Stew - For those who don't know it, the dish is a cross of stew and chili. (At least the way I make it)

Cooking items needed:
Dutch Over (big cast iron pot with a lid)
Knife
Cooking spoon
Tasting spoon and cup.

Ingredients -
5lbs of your choice meat (I usually use chicken, venison steak, steak or pork chops) cut into strips
Celery (Whole stalk cut into pieces)
Carrots cut into coin pieces
2 Good Sized Potatoes cut into pieces
2 Large or 4 medium cans of Hot Chili beans
1 Large Onion Slivered
Brown Sugar
Lemon Juice
3 or 4 Large Cans of Tomato Juice
1 Family Sized Can of condensed Tomato Soup (Optional)
Mustard
Ketchup
3 Table Spoons of Vinager

Heat up the Dutch Over on the range at medium heat. Place the meat into the bottom and start to mix until it cooks. (You can add a little water to keep the meat from sticking to the bottom)
Once the meat is cooked quickly add the vegetables and beans.
Add about 2 cups of Ketchup and about two table spoons of mustard. (I do things by taste actual measurement will be lacking.)
Stir this mixture together to prevent burning
Add two cans of Tomato Juice
Add the vinegar, a squirt of Lemon juice and a handful of Brown Sugar
Mix and then taste. Make it more sour or sweat by adding more Brown sugar or Vinager/Lemon Juice
Now if you want the stew to thicken up faster use the Tomato Soup, if you want the carrots and potatoes to cook longer use another can of Tomato Juice.
Cover and simmer (Stir every few minutes to prevent burning.)
With the Soup in their it should only take 10 minutes with only the juice simmer 20-to-30 minutes.
Use the extra can of juice to extend the life of the mixture as people gobble it down. (I have 6 in my family it takes less then a day for three of us to eat it all.)

I will see if I can salvage the picture I had of this.

Sour and Spicy Ramen -

This is a recipe I came up with myself.

1 pack instant ramen (the block type, the flavor doesn't matter you will not be using it.)
Hot sauce (I use Salsa Valentina, but Red Hot can be used)
3 Table Spoons Vinegar
Half of a cutlet of meat (you can use a whole one) cut into strips
1 julienned potato (or hacked up how you like it.)

In the bowl you are going to eat it from. Place the noddles (I usually break the block into four), vinegar, and cover the top of the noddles with the hot sauce. Put the water to boil. And well that is heating up. Place the meat into a pan with oil and start to sear the meat as the cooks add the potatoes  and brown the mixture. (Medium heat is good) Once the water is boiling place on the ramen and let sit.
At the end of the browning I add more hot sauce to the meat and sear the sauce. Add the mix to the top of the ramen and enjoy.

Yeah usually when something has been in development this long it's either vaporware or it doesn't turn out very well. (Duke Nukem/Too Human) It was announce about 6 years ago near the begining of this console generation and XIII-2 which was announced less than 2 years ago has already been out for a few months. I think they are trying to get some money back from the project.

95
Well this is kind of related so I will put it here. I received an email yesterday that the club Nintendo cards that I ordered where ship, so they should arrive sometime next week.

The last time Pokemon was attached to a strange word it ended up being a puzzle title. (It also began with a T and with my poor spelling I'm not going to even attempt to...)

It had a possibility to fly. All they would have to do is give Nintendo a cut of of the store proceeds. Though if there is a retail version (disc) there will have to be money involved.

Search either "do a barrel roll" or "Z or L twice" and google does a trick for you.j

Sorry if this was already covered I didn't see it so I posted it.

Some dl services have floor and ceiling limits on the software sales and it probally wasn't living up those limits, so the titles are getting pulled. I don't know the terms so I'm not going to speculate.
