It could of been possible to change the name. But with the current way they are setting things up with the multiplayer so dependent on Wii controllers it wouldn't been a sensible move marketing wise.

TalkBack / Re: My Thoughts: Two Wii U Controllers at Once Possible?
« on: June 09, 2011, 09:15:30 PM »
I can see where more than one controller of this type may not be necessary. They should make a "classic controller" that can stand on it own. Though I can't currently find the quote but Nintendo is looking into two or more of the new controllers. (sigh... since when do we need to name the controllers..... ;p)

But with the advent of network play the need for localized multi-player seems to be on the way out. Nintendo does allow for the use of the Wiimote/classic controller combo with the new system (which is unwieldly which is why they should come out with a wireless classic)

After 15 years, and three major and various minor revisions and one offshoot. They are doing the same thing with the DS, which in it first major revision is the 3DS. The only system that doesn't fit the bill is the Gamecube which was their least popular home console. (The VirtualBoy is the offshoot)

Someone brought up that if they just called it the Wii 2 there wouldn't of been such a reaction because of somewhat expecting it. But just like the Wii name they will get over it.

Yep. There was at least your standard one and a desert one shown in the demo reel. I think there was a number given 8 or something, but I haven't had sleep so I could be wrong.

Immensely enjoyed the first one. I have to get a 3DS now. Actually I was just thinking of just getting one and hoping I have enough money.

I remember the same thing happened when they first came out with the name Wii.

One the biggest reason for the touch screen is they are going to give the Console/Handheld connectivity the best shot they can. By making sure that the controllers can be used as a low level handheld it avoids the entrance fee shock that many developers/publishers used for not making games for the option in the last two generations. And by having all the bells and whistles in the controller it allow for the functionality of the other console with out having the need to segment the market by who has what accessory. I cannot find the article but a manufacturer interview said that the controller who possible cost Nintendo $26 to make (as opposed to the $6 for the Wiimote) depending on how much of a hit they are willing to take the controller could be about $80. Considering that the Move starter pack (which includes the PS Eye) cost $99 it could be considered a steal.

Face buttons: (numerical answer) 7 (4 action buttons, +, - , home)
D-pad: Yes
Dual analogue sticks: Yes
Rumble: Yes
Screen: Yes
Camera: Yes
Speaker: Yes - to maintain backward compatibility with the Wii games that actually used it, and so it can be used as a gaming device.
Triggers: (numerical answer) 2 at the end of each rumored handles
I.R: No, it will use the camera in place of the IR/sensor the Wii used.
Microphone: Yes
Rechargeable battery: Yes - Kind of cheating with the article that was just recently put up.
Motion sensors: Yes - again with the backward compatibility

My idea: It will be able to used as a portable game-player, like a souped up DC VMU. (It will have the DS chipset reduced similarly to the way the GBA chipset was reduced on the DS/DS Lites. This will also help run the touchscreen)

My idea: The system will support 3DS/DSi connectivity easily because of the last idea.

My idea: The controller will cost at most $80US. (This is based off of an estimate that one manufacture made when the first rumors of the controller came to light.)

Actually the camera is going to be supplied by the company that does the iPhone's camera. So it isn't just the parts from the DSi/3DS, plus there is chance depending where the camera is mounted that they can use the camera for motion controls (similar to how the Kinect uses a camera) instead of the ir/sensor setup they have been using.

http://kotaku.com/5807243/nintendos-next-console-may-have-something-in-common-with-the-iphone
(The source of the information on the camera)

I think they will be in the 70-to-80 dollar area while a little expansive if it can be used as a portable gaming device in addition to a controller I think it will be a good trade-off.

Like "most" horror series the first one is passable at least. Then the third or second generation directors run out of material, and MO of the villain gets somewhat predictable.

Yeah I also read a little more it sound like a little bit of galaxy mixed in. So I guess they figure if they can beat another 3D game out of the franchise, they will borrow heavily from others. But it does work. So I'm going with a wait and see...

With Sonic 4 being pushed back I guess they Sega was thoughful enough to scrape up some more sonic road kill. (sarcasm) Judging from the video they finally figured out that people didn't want another storybook Sonic game and decided for another shot at an Adventure type title.

I'm buying both (Galaxy 2 and Monster Hunter) either today to tomorrow. The releases were at a bad time for my bills. The second half of the month goes to my loans. So I'm going to float a check that hopefully will not make it into my account for the second time until I get paid.

Much like in the US there is only one carrier that has the iPhone in Japan. (From what I have read from people that have one.) It is my guess they have whatever company that supplies the ones for Nintendo. (Most larger companies buy phones for their executives and pays the bills so they are easy to get a hold of.)

Yeah I have been having financial problems because of .... my (insert explicative) school. They dropped me with a few classes left and dump nearly 100k of loans on me. I hasn't been fun.

I have been looking at that thing. I may have to do another one soon. Hopefully I looks better and is easier to read.

As for the topic. I have several IDE hard drive from many of my RIP comps sitting around. I fear what is on some of those.

Loosing opportunities, and a change is management helps. A semi decent correlation would be with ATT and MCI. The technology that made MCI was developed right in ATT's labs. When they wouldn't go forward with Satellite relay for long distance connections the creator decided to get funding and start MCI. After that ATT had to change and adapt something that it did not previously have to do. And now after about 20+ year we can see the one that is left standing.

That's nice I disappear for a while and people forget me. I'm Mickey Bigelow, I wrote that a while ago. While I was sitting in line waiting to get in to get a Wii. I wrote one for the PS2/GC/Xbox generation also. I could try to dig it up but I don't think anyone would have it still in any form.

I have to say I was very wrong on the Wii predictions.

I found the orginal essay on the boards, and the first post is the reason why he had a copy on his hard drive. (I put up a link to download the file off my website. To keep from having a big post.)

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Pokemon Platinum Rotom Codes Insert
« on: April 01, 2009, 04:18:46 AM »
Ok the codes are for a wallpaper and when you get all five you get something fun. There is a key you have to get the new forms. And it going to be a special event item i guess that is all I can find.

The code is enter at www.pokemonplatinum.com/rotom

That is all the information I have right now. The insert is a little misleading until you read it all. I just scaned the insert at first.

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon Platinum Rotom Codes Insert
« on: April 01, 2009, 04:03:19 AM »
Shamin isn't the only Pokmon getting a new form in Platinum. Contained within the game is an insert that contains one of five codes to get one of the five new forms of Rotom. It says you can share the code the with friends. I have the code for the Grass type. (Mow Rotom)

The code is 7W6O3M5. (The O in the middle I'm guessing is the letter. I haven't redeemed mine yet since I have to get the mystery gift option working and input the code on the games offical site.)

The other new on is Garintina and the origin form.
