I am assuming that this will work with lan games as well, not just pure online games.

Famitsu gave this game a really good score, so I may have to check it out.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:WW of OoT style graphics??
« on: August 01, 2003, 05:18:37 AM »
The problem with the super realistic look is the one that is keeping Miyamoto from fulfilling it in at least this generation of consoles.  Yeah, the SW2K Link/Ganondorf footage looks good, but look at the animation.  It's pretty choppy because it is extremely tough to make as many animations as in WW in a super realistic game.  If in the next generation of systems this level of animation in super realistic graphics can be achieved, then that will be the time where a realistic LoZ will become reality.

Did you see the dog on the way in?  Scoop where he is sniffing.

I think I remember hearing that it was taken out of the Xbox version and the hint was never removed.  Unless Interplay took the time to put it in, then it probably doesn't exist in the GC version either.

Clear and simple business strategy: Never release all your games at once.  I'm pretty sure the game is complete, or at least near-complete.  Ninty just wants to release it during a time where they will not be releasing other games.  Since we don't know of any games that are going to be released next summer, that is a logical guess.

It will most definitely be first revealed at the next E3 if it exists.  Unfortunately, Ninty now only wants to show games at game shows if they are to be released that year.

It's not that Miyamoto didn't approve of the darker style in OoT...It was that the animation wasn't fluid at all.  I remember in one interview with him he talked of the two different styles.  He said that the more realistic you make a game, it actually detracts from the game because it is extremely hard to create perfect animations for that more realistic character.  If this problem can be averted(such as with more powerful hardware) than I'm sure Miyamoto might gladly turn in that direction.  However, if there is no fluidity, then there's no chance.

As long as Ninty isn't pressured to put the next game out before a certain date, I'm positive there will be at least 2 more dungeons than there were in WW.

Nintendo Gaming / Whats the difference between Worms 3 and Worms 3D ?
« on: July 23, 2003, 03:41:19 PM »
Yeah, they are the same game.  Team 17 first had it named the tentative "Worms 3," but it's now Worms 3D.

The game looks interesting, but ToS is definitely more to my liking.  I'll just have to see what Namco will do to seperate itself from other card games like Lost Kingdoms.

There were 2 more dungeons planned for WW, but due to time constraints they were pulled sometime during production.  I am guessing that Jabun was one, but I have no idea where the other could have been.  Perhaps Tingle's Tower?

Wow, Pokemon pinball must be pretty good.  Guess I'll have to check it out when it's finally released in the U.S.

For the next game, the clones should definitely be alternate costumes for their "parents."  Then adding more characters won't fill up so much space on the screen.

Nintendo Gaming / What game I'd like to see for the Gamecube
« on: July 22, 2003, 03:06:27 PM »
1) Definitely a 3d Pokemon RPG, and I really don't care if it's online or not.  If it's not then they can get it out sooner

2) I want a 3d Mother game...I was so disappointed when it was announced that Mother 3 is going to be on the GBA

3) A 3d Yoshi game.  Miyamoto confirmed that a Yoshi game was in the works, but I have a strong feeling it will be 2d, ala Yoshi's Island/Yoshi's Story.  If so, then please, oh please, make it more like Yoshi's Island!

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Series Time Line Explanation
« on: July 22, 2003, 02:57:44 PM »
The Oracle games are by themselves, because Link is discovering the Triforce and Zelda for the first time.  The 3 pieces of the Triforce are together, so my best bet is that it is after LttP.  That in mind, my timeline goes like so...

OoT
MM

WW

LttP
LA

OoA
OoS

LoZ
AoL

making 5 Links in my timeline

Nintendo Gaming / zelda wind waker; dragons roost...PLEASE help
« on: July 22, 2003, 02:53:16 PM »
This should be in the WW help post, but I'll help you anyway.   Be sure when you are throwing the bomb at the second vase that you are standing on the platform made by the first vase.  You can't throw the bomb from where you get it.  Just be sure to line up the throw and you should be fine.

Nintendo Gaming / GOLDEN SUN beginning game help
« on: July 22, 2003, 07:57:27 AM »
OK, so you beat the thieves and Ivan got his rod back right?  Well you need to leave Vault heading east.  Keep going until you reach a bridge and then go north once you cross it.  There will be a cave you want to enter.  Progress through the cavern until you reach a stump with leaves on it.  If you try to jump, Garet will stop you and Ivan will appear.  That should be enough info.

^^^  exactly how I think the next 2 games are gonna play out.

To expand, I'm guessing that on the voyage to find a new land Link and the pirates get side-tracked/Tetra gets captured/etc..  Of course, I'm expecting the game to be land-based.  I do wonder, however, what the main tool of the game will be.  We've had a tool to move through time, through seasons, the direction of the wind....Maybe Ninty will implement sometime in a Zelda game a tool that can manipulate the weather?

<walks off drooling at potential possibilities>

Nintendo Gaming / OoT IS about the Imprisoning War
« on: July 19, 2003, 11:12:28 AM »
Well just like in real-life myths and legends, this one could be misconstrued(aka: twisted, changed) over the period of millenia that the series takes place, so it may be most accurate to assume OoT is the correct form of the legend(cause it came first).
