MK- DD is far to much an N64 copy

lol except they changed it entirely lol"

It plays exactly the same though, after playing it for 10 minutes, it feels like you have played it a million times before, that is what I meant with my comment. I also dont mean it as a bad thing. I am a huge fan of MK64, I just dont see DD as anything worthy of GOTY simply because it is far to similar to MK64.

Hope that is a little better explanation.

so tru.

General Chat / What role do Publishers play?

Aside from the obvious answer, what else do they do?

EA and Ubi Soft get all this credit for their great games, but aren't they just publishers? Developers do all the work, it seems.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Is nintendo losing its touch????
« on: November 23, 2003, 11:08:31 AM »
^ well said.

In fact, Super Mario Sunshine is probably more different from SUper MArio 64 than Super Mario World is from Super Mario 3. For once, Nintendo abandoned the traditional (some may say clichéd, but I hate that word with a passion) levels (desert, snow land, water area, etc.). Instead, we got locales such as Ricco Harbor (i love that one) and .. uh.. the other levels (the names have slipped my mind)

i like Super Mario Sunshine. I just don't like the coin collecting (just like i dont like the triforce collecting in LoZ: WW

'specially at the Chozo Ruins West hallway.. right?

my hypothesis (which is probably wrong) :

it is because the game is constantly loading, so the smallest problem creates a domino effect

yea

yeah... a little too strange for me

im not a big fan of the constricted movement.. i hope that it doesnt get boring, for this game coulda been a wicked third person adventure game (with free movement and a plethora of moves)

Nintendo Gaming / RE:A realistic Zelda afterall?
« on: October 23, 2003, 06:06:26 PM »

for the N5 i hope that they make a ground-breaking, completely realistic, "perfect" 3D game (no clipping, skipped animations, camera problems, jaggies, good draw distance, etc.)

that could make as much money as Ocarina of Time, and set standards for a long time

i really wish that it would get big on GCN and stay there.. it could be a system seller (with the Cube at 99.99, I would def. buy one for V.Joe and Mario Kart [but i already have a cube..so..])

p.s. anyone know how to get past the big barrel that comes right after you get mach speed VFX?

Launch it in the air (down+punch) and then Mach speed under it

how come canuck only posts doom threads?  i've noticed a pattern here.

he knows what he's talkin aboot (lame, i know, but i just had to spell it that way)

i guess its better to expect the worst so that you're surprised when things turn out better than you expect

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo to make a new product announcement soon
« on: September 20, 2003, 06:10:44 AM »
As for Mushroom Kingdoms: I would think that this is another name for Nintendo's Online world.. back in the days of the "StarCube" someone had an interesting Idea that Nintendo's online community would be named and created as a true community with different places (bearing Nintendo Trademark names) serving as the forum, chat room, gaming area, etc. [i.e. Hyrule Castle is the chat room, blah blah blah]

Now, what I would like to see is an online Zelda game, maybe not featuring Link, but instead you could be of the different races (Goron, Gerudo, Zora, Sheikah, Kokiri [though Kokiri can't leave the forest.. oh well they could find away around that], or Hylian)

And maybe the game could take place after Zelda: The Adventure of Link, when Hyrule starts rebuilding, and the Kokiri could be more like wood elves, the sheikah could be like ninjas, and the Gerudo could be awesome fighters (like the Aiel in Wheel of Time)..

If Nintendo is kind to us, then this announcement will be Kid Icarus, except If it is then I hope that it has lots of wicked fights or powerups... and eventually you  could have those flying stages and be strapped with crazy Magick out the yin-yang

Namco is making a very smart move by getting close with Nintendo. Here are my thoughts on this:

Nintendo's franchises are the best selling titles on GCN, right? Well, Namco optimizes sales on GameCube by developing the big Nintendo franchises. Its the smartest move a 3rd party could make when making games for GCN (developing a big Nintendo franchise, that is).

and Nintendo gets to focus on new franchises for GCN (or at least they are supposed to be doing this)

sure, this isnt a big revelation by any means, but its still pretty cool.

Yes I should do that.. or people can lighten up and join the discussion.

I'm just preaching the good word of a theorized fourth dimension, and the possibilities of making such exist inside games.

so, to sum things up (Zoolander style):

You're excused. And I'm not your "bra"
