Vudu, I think all the insane questions about statues, sculptures, fruit baskets, dioramas, arcade machines, computer casings, and the like would be better for a funhouse thread for questions about the contest, in the event there are standers by who take your questions seriously.  Don't you?

I had this idea that looked great in my head but I have no way to show it to any of you.

Insane questions?  Marble statues were mentioned in the contest rules!!

Send us your videos, pictures, artwork, or marble statues depicting how you spend the summer with video games. Use any visual medium; the more creative the better.

The results of this could be interesting... though I don't know if any picture could top the winner of that one PGC anniversary contest.

Can I just submit the picture of my Wii in an box ready to be shipped back to Nintendo? :(
Title: Re: CONTEST: NWR SUMMER CONTEST
Post by: Mop it up on July 21, 2009, 04:58:58 PM
You could submit that but I doubt it would win. Maybe you can get creative with that by taking a picture of yourself in the box saying that you're sending yourself with it?

Sounds good to me.

Work in the summer theme and you're good to go.

European readership alienated. Mission failed.

I was looking forward to making something for this contest, but the game wouldn't play on my Wii if I won. I guess that means living in the UK will disqualify me from all future competitions as well.

You submit and win, surrender your prize to me, and I will pay for half of your EUR copy.
Sound like a fair deal? We both win.

Same deal to you Plugabugz

No Joke, dead serious,

Even if I end up with one extra copy of WiiSports Resort, I got a friend that will buy it off of me, so it's all good.
We can work out the specifics for monetary exchange through PM after the contest is decided.

Does PayPal do currency exchange?

Work in the summer theme and you're good to go.

Tips: Wear shorts, see if you can catch a GS employee in uniform (ie. visible name badge) on their way back from lunch, so you can catch them outside on a nice sunny day.

There are other prizes.  Even if you live in Europe there are prizes for other places that are not dependent on the Wii region.  Even if you win, you get a MotionPlus out of it!

Remember guys, even if you don't win you can gain entrance into the NWR hall of fame, just like Smash_Brother did with his 7th anniversary picture or Hallbred's dinosaur pajamas.

Really sometimes its fun just to mess around with ideas even if you don't win anything in particular.

Submissions will be posted the evening of Saturday, August 1 2009

I mean who decided the top 5? It should have been every entry.... I spent hours working on mine and it doesn't get a chance?

NWR STAFF  there is a little glitch.  When you link to this page from the main menu, it goes into a secure https protocol and the page loads with errors and its all jumbled.   But when you enter the page through the talkback section, it is displayed properly.  I am using IE 8 with windows 7

I apologize for not specifically mentioning the "narrowing down to Top 5" concept.  We had to do that to keep the voting manageable, and will spell this out in the rules of future contests of this type.  This was always assumed on our end, and not putting it in there was an oversight on our part.

Don't feel stupid EasyCure. I didn't realize I had won for the same reason until I saw Vudu's post. I came in confused, wondering if people were still voting since it said [VOTE NOW] at the top the way it does now even though it's not supposed to because you can't.
