Title: Who here's interested in Geist?
Post by: notic on July 24, 2004, 05:35:08 PM
It will most likely have a really good storyline and innovative gameplay. It hope it does great. I just don't like what's shown on the HUD it looks neah...

I really haven't heard or read that much about it. The concept is interesting though. I dislike first-person shooters, but it seems to be more of a first person ADVENTURE like Metroid Prime.

It looks very good. I just hope it doesn't start looking any better, cuz if so I lose another fiftyish dollars. And there are already enough games I'm interested in.

I'll take the wait and see approach. Doesn't look that interesting right now.

The concept is extremely interesting, I'm just waiting to see how it's executed. All too often games can have truly innovative and original ideas but the game itself falls short- case in point Blinx and Black and White.

I also remember those awful Blinx commercials. and Geist looks really interesting and hopefully its more of a "thinking shooter" since it looks like by the concept. I think it looks promissing but the ammo display and bars are abit fugly but that could be fixed.

I find the concept in Geist to be interesting too. But I'll wait and see how it turns out before buying it with my hard earned bucks. Money isn't a issue for me!

DAISY IS INTERESTED IN GEIST. SHE WANTS TO POSSESS DOGS AND DO INAPPROPRIATE THINGS TO GUARDS' LEGS.

I'm interested in it although the idea of the game seems to be better off if it wasn't so much a shooter. It seems to be better if it was some action/adventure kind of game. If I possess something I just don't want to shoot all the time. I like to possess a janitor and fight assasin like with a mop. If I cause more people to attack then he can do some martial arts with the mop. Then eventually I can possess some guard, put on a Jason mask, carry a chainsaw, and cause terror in other guards that spook easily and when things get more dangerous you pull out the gun.

I heard Nintendo is helping N-Space with it because the big N is really interested in this game. I hope the levels are so big that there are many ways to approach it and that they up the graphics.

Did somebody say Geist? Yeah this game is going to be sweet. I played a ton of it at E3. It's got some great ideas. It's much more of a first person adventure than a first person shoother. In the most recent level at E3 2004, the first half of the demo was pretty much all adventure and the second half was a shooter. There are tons of little detials, for example when you possess the dog your vision changes. It gets a slight fish-eye effect and the coloring changes to black and white with yellow mixed in, which is how a dog really sees. nSpace has put a lot of detail into this game. It reminds me a lot of all the detail Silicon Knights put into Eternal Darkness.
The multiplayer is lots of fun. The possession aspects of the game really freshen things up.
Also, it doesn't look like ass. Part of the problem was the monitors Nintendo was using at E3 this year.

Anyone ever play Space Station Silicon Valley on the N64? That game had the same concept going on. You played as a computer chip who would posess the bodies of robotic animals and try to save a spaceship or something. And each animal had different moves, and strengths and weaknesses. It was really innovative, and very humorous.
I don't think I'll be getting Geist though. Timesplitters 2 is enough FPS for me this generation.

Man... Space Station Sillicon Valley was a great game. That was a "thinking man's" platformer, so if that's what Geist is the FPS genre, it might be something afterall... But for now it's nothing I'm really looking forward to. WAY too many great FPS's coming out between now and Geist for me to really care.

I remember reading somewhere Retro was helping N-Space with the game. Is there any truth to this?

Probably no.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Retro was helping N-Space...The timing is just about perfect with Metroid Prime 2 in it's finishing stages, and with the attention to detail that I've seen in Geist so far, it only adds more to that thought...

Yes, this game will definitely be one for me to pick up, as it looks to be yet another Viewtiful Joe of this generation- innovative gameplay and amazing graphics.

This one is definitely high up on my list. I'm glad to hear it is being moved to next year because last year I missed out on a lot of games just because they all came out in the same three month period around Christmas. Anyway, I really value new gameplay concepts, so I'll almost definitely be buying this game. I suppose I'll wait to see if the reviews are any good, but poor reviews didn't stop me from buying Future Tactics, and I'm glad. It doesn't matter to me if the game's not perfect when it's original.

I'm not really much of a FPS fan but something about Geist just catches my eye. Probably the odd sort of gameplay it seems to have - possessing people, animals and objects and such. So yeah, I'm interested in it.

It will have some cool adventure elements. Even Shigeru Miyamoto is part of this project.
