Title: Customized games in the next generation consoles?
Post by: stino3063 on April 21, 2004, 06:20:28 AM
I hear that the next generation of consoles will allow games and experiences to be gcustomized.h   Whatfs the deal with that? Do you think that would work?

Of course it would work its just that you would mostly see it on the PC.  It can be done on a console but I'd probably see more whiny babies about what they created turned out to be a disaster.  Maybe if there were more people who are willing to go more complex than the traditional RPG then it would work.  It would probably scare a lot away first.  But you now what?  Too bad!  If you can deal with these kind of game difficulties you'll have more fun.  The whiny bashers will just be wasting their time arguing.

Sheesh, what could that mean? That would never work!

Yeah, I think customizability won't go so far as being able to create a completely different game than the next person...But you never know in the future...(If anyone has been inside the "globe" at Epcot, recall the kids playing that videogame as a bee in a garden-like environment, then magically morphing into a spaceship when the background changes to a space environment...)

nintendo has been wanting to make games more customizable since the n64 era.  The 64dd was their answer but it was too late in the life span and it was an add on so you know it didnt take off, besides I think it was more of an experiment for nintendo.  If nintendo does include rewriteable media and a harddrive then that should open the door for some customization but I dont think it'll be up to the level of pc games but I'm happy with that beucase I dont have enough time on my hands anymore to put that much into the game and there are too many good games that come out that its hard to put some playtime in all of them ( or even a third of them)
