The men in the Selkie tribe look like women in FF:CC.  The new male character from Final Fantasy XII also looks feminine.

Why is it that when someone has a roll of duct tape, it's bound to get used whether you need it or not?  I mean, if there's nothing useful to do with it, at least one person is going to tear off a piece and put it over their mouths, or put it on their leg and pull it off just to see how much it hurts.  It's bizarre.  An inexplicable force that draws you into doing stupid crap with very durable tape.  I've got a lack of leg hair in some places to prove it.

I have a friend who carries duct tape with him everywhere and he's always fiddling around with it.  However if I ever NEED duct tape he will 99% of the time not have it with him and instead will be carrying around some incredibly sh!tty red tape that couldn't stick to glue.

Everyone knows what we're talking about, you know when you go to a store and up by the counter there's a rack a impulse items and among those items are packages of multicolored tape and you think to yourself "that could be useful" and not knowing anything about hardware buy the tape only to find that the novelty of the colors is in fact the only useful thing about the "tape" because it barely sticks to anything let alone holds anything together.
I know so much about the colored tape because my dumb friend *clears throat* bought some.

Duct tape is called duct tape because water flows off it like it flows off a duck.

I feel a sudden inexplicable urge to get some duct tape to test the validity of that statement.

Hostile Creation, I think mouse_clicker is referring to the fact that some TVs don't totaly mute when on mute. I too had a TV once that could just barely be heard when on mute. Of course there's a good chance that Nintendo does give one special powers or that mouse clicker's TV does in fact totaly mute and he's just insane

I was referring to what MattCrafty said not what PaLaDiN said except some of what he said also this post isn't in response to what I said but I did want it to make reference to what I said so it is in spirit a response to what I said and in response to what you said but not in response to what Hostile Creation said except before.

(edit): sorry a typo made it so this didn't make any sense but I fixed it so now this makes sense.

Old woman.  What you think?

Hey, I don't feel like making my own avatar,  If you want me to change it, you find me a better one, (preferably of Saya from Peace Maker Kurogane when she's blushing <3.  Or of Suupi-kun from Scrapped Princess. <3) you got that?

(actually, that WAS the plan, but it fell apart when i started to like this avatar.......)

Hey BTW speaking of the banana family, don't buy "red bananas". I saw them in the store and thought what the heck. So I bought 2 bunches. I think they're supposed to cooked (?like plantains?) because they don't seem edible when raw ::YUCK::. They taste like the greenest banana x10, instant cotten-mouth.

kingvudu:  You really hate my avatar that much?  Why?  It's not THAT bad, is it?  I'll change it, but I still want a good Saya one (Suupi-kun if no good Saya's come up), the one you linked to is too dark.

Would you like this better?  Actually, this one wouldn't be so bad, but it better suits the perm.

*sigh*

Saya's cuteness cannot be expressed in mere snapshots.  No, a pic of her will not do.  On the other hand, her friend's cuteness can! be expressed through pictures! (i'm very bad with names)

I like that one, but I might want to use this one though.......that part of FMA is absoultely the most heartbreaking scene in any anime I've ever seen. ;__;  I just watched it again and I came closer to crying......and whoever does the voice of Elysia = great job.

Which one should I use?  I'm leaning towards the first one, just because it looks cleaner.

Man, I balled like a little baby at the end of Jurassic Bark- it is easily the finest single piece of modern animation to date. I also cried at the end of the 6 other episodes I just listed. The Luck of the Fryish should be on Cartoon Network again sometime in the next month and a half. Speaking of which, Cartoon Network is starting their Futurama episodes over again tonight with Space Pilot 3000. Remember to tune in at 11:30 PM Eastern! ^_^

Please respond to this and then give me permission to plagurize what you wrote:

"In the absense of real adult role models, have violent television and videogame images become a substitute rolemodel?"

Using news examples would be nice (like the kid-shooting-cars-because-he-played-GTA-and-his-parents-are-dumb-blups thing).  And make it relatively lengthy.  Por favor.  it's only for a journal entry.  it's not a big project.  please?

Saddest anime/cartoon moment IMO is from Trigun when Meryl and Vash are sitting on a ledge at night and she sings the old folksong/lullaby to him don't remember the specifics, I just recall it being really sad.

I don't think Kn's avatar looks like an old woman...or is that the avatar that you changed it to? I must have missed it.

You don't know the true meaning of "sadness" until you've watched Full Metal Alchemist...Two episodes so far have left me in utter shock...It's actually pretty amazing how the creator could even go through with shredding the reader's/watcher's heart apart in the ways he has...

I think I do severly underestimate Jurassic Bark, too.  if a cartoon like futurerama can be the first form of media to make me cry.......then.........umm...........i'll think more....betterer......yeah

I'll have to find a way to catch Jurassic bark at some point in my life without having to watch every Futurerama epiode every night. =\

Bill:  i think the impact of episode 7 was lessened by the facts that (a)  i was watching it in the middle of a beautiful afternoon and (b) I was expecting something like that since you kept saying "poor nina."  But the latest episode, even though you warned my about the death of a character, took me completely by surprise.  Even after I saw it i didn't even realize that's what you were talking about a while later.  I just couldn't stop thinking about the funeral scene..........;__;

Well, Futurama is the best animated cinema since Looney Tunes, so I hardly consider watching every episode every night a burden.

Nah, I know what opinions are, they just don't apply to Futurama or Looney Tunes.

To KN down there \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

You can buy the first 3 seasons of Futurama on DVD now. It's probably not a good idea to just flat out buy them, though. You CAN get them through...uh..... other methods I'm sure you're familiar with.
Title: RE: Random Thoughts
Post by: KnowsNothing on March 31, 2004, 03:44:13 PM
But it is. =P  I don't think it's the best animated cinema, and i'm usually not watching TV at 11:30 PM. (actually, lately I haven't even been up then because I am constntly fatigued and need more rest.  and more rest doesn't seem to be helping. which is weird).  Plus, I don't watch much TV anyway, I've been watching almost only downloaded anime for a while now.

So yeah. =P

the music they used only enhanced the effect too, the staff on futurama are an incredibly tallented bunch, two or three hold PHD's in mathmatics and physics and stuff (clearly i don't ^__^) the voice actors, Billy West, John DiMaggio (sp?) and Tres McNeil especially, are absolutely outstanding and Rough Draft studios did a top effort on the animation, some of the shots are absolutely beautiful, and best of all fox hated the show and screwed them around!

Get this:

I was throwing a tennis ball at my TV during a show, and it broke the glass...Does that count as violent?
Title: RE: Random Thoughts
Post by: KnowsNothing on April 10, 2004, 10:45:49 AM
I'd be too afraid to throw anything a tennis ball at a TV simply for the reason that they bounce, and anything that bounces has a tendancy to hit me in the eye.

That must have been one weak TV.  or maybe you have a great arm and you should take up baseball.  or better yet bowling.  Bowling is the sport of champions.

Man, I am one of the jumpiest people on the planet- any little surprise scares the crap out of me. When the bell rings, or a door slams, or a fire drill goes off, I practically have a heart attack. Even when I'm talking on Trillian and somebody makes a smiley that makes noise I practically fall over in my chair. All my friends known I'm jumpy, too, so they've taken it upon themselves to sneak up behind me and jump on my back, or slap my desk when I'm not completely alert (one guy did it while I was sleeping and I about died). I swear, my heart's going to stop one of these days and they're just going to laugh at me. O_O

I'm sometimes jumpy. Once my sister put her hand on my head during and advert for a horror movie and i jumped 4fit in the air out of my chair. Another time I was watching Scilence of the Lambs and something happened suddenly and I jumped backwards. Luckily my mum's exercise ball was on the chair so I bounced rite back onto my feet!

I wasn't even throwing it that hard...My dad told me I shouldn't do that, but do I listen? Of course not. Now the money to replace it is coming out of my pocket. DAMN YOU, YOU WEAK T.V!!

If you have smooth scrolling enabled for your browser (preferrably Mozilla), and you have a mousewheel. Then you can click your mousewheel and the left mouse button at the same time while scrolling upwards, and it will make a cool wave effect on your screen.

Very hard to do though, and takes alot of practice.

My friend murk (has come here before) is like that.  If he hears anything, or someone sneaks up on him, he'll jump up and turn around, often yelping "WHAT?!"  Sometimes he strikes out, but mostly he runs or hides or tries to defend himself.  He's rubbed off on me some, too, though I'm not nearly as bad as he is.
He's also deathly afraid of my mother, partly for fun, and partly for reasons beyond my understanding.
