A thread to advertise the link you have in your sig. Wonderful! >_>
Footrot Flats, Hagar The Horrible and The Simpsons/Futurama comics are awesome-o-tasitc. Garfield USED to be kinda funny, but he fell down the toilet a while back. A large toilet.

Garfield will never fall down the toilet! >=(  Though it's not as great as it used to be, you have to understand that it's hard to come up with fresh jokes for a comic strip that's been going on for more than 25 years...

Favs: Foxtrot, Garfield, Dilbert, Calvin & Hobbes

Dilbert, Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, Hsu and Chan (and others by the same guy), Frightened Flamingoes comics (don't ask), Garfield, Get Fuzzy. . . many good stuffs, though the first few are probably my favorites.

I like the comic art.  Its got the nice fantasy/sci-fi non-anime/hentai thing to it.  After looking at the art it reminds me of D&D video gaming and wonders if there are D&D comics.

Actually, I prefer Sear.

In my opinion, Garfield is one of the worst comic strips ever- Jim Davis ran out of ideas the first week of syndication and has been reusing the same old jokes over and over again since. His art is extremely static, too, with the speech bubbles expressing the most movement, more often than not.

Calvin Hobbes is to comic strips what Lord of the Rings is to literature and Looney Tunes is to animation, in my opinion- that is to say perfection. It's a shame Universal Press Syndicate pressured Watterson to license it so much he quit.

Nah, I was bent on bashing Garfield before I knew you liked it.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............Garfield is awesome!  Don't you dare bad mouth the fat cat.

Sure, most of the comics strips are not funny, but some are really LOL! Like the pie one I linked to on MSN chat awhile back.
I get daily Garfield comic strips in my email.

I can't believe I'm about to do this but......I agree with Mouse_Clicker.  Garfield stinks and has for a long time.

Wow, Mouse, twice in one day!

Footrot Flats eh? Doubleplusgoodawsome, comrade.

I go to Penny-Arcade (though more for the news posts than the comics) and Mega Tokyo. I really didn't like Mega Tokyo for a long while, but the drawing style drew me in. It's really pretty cool, though not very funny.

No comic will ever top the greatness of Calvin and Hobbes.  I will always recieve these in my email so it sort of feels like they are still being made, even though I have read them all so many times.  Ahh, so sad that it died.

Garfield is ok... used to be better. The quality has always been hit-and-miss... it just misses a lot more often now.

And I can't believe nobody mentioned a super-hero yet. Kids these days... no culture whatsoever...

So, to kick it off:

Spider-man, Spider-Man
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size
Catches thieves, just like flies
Look out, here comes the Spider-Man!

Yeah, Calvin and Hobbes is vastly superior to Garfield, definitely. . . of all the ones on that list, Garfield is probably my least favorite.  There's some sense of cockiness in Calvin and Hobbes, though. . . like, I can make intentionally unfunny comics sometimes and still get away with it (I mean touching rather than humorous.  Always a waste of my time).  It may have added some depth to the comic, but I imagine one could pull that off without completely eradicating the humor in a certain strip.

Calvin and Hobbes is excellent, though, don't get me wrong.  That one little thing just annoys me sometimes.

Peanuts (aka Snoopy) Footrot Flats ( Murray Ball) (avatar chain fans? ) Spiderman / most Marvel (not dc, never.) and ofcourse Calvin and Hobbes, curse you digital age, you'll be the death of comics

oh and The Far Side is damn awsome, and garfield makes me laugh sometimes, OLD garfields..

i haven't seen one shout out to the boondocks yet.  sadness.  true, it's not as good as it used to be.  which is pretty sad, considering the strip's only a few years old.  caesar is the worst character ever.  but still, the first year or so was great.

Pennyarcade is awesome.  Also, freeparking by Sejuay. . . freeparking.keenspace.com.  Hilarious.

Note my use of the phrase one of. Family Circus is by far the worst comic strip to date.

I don't know guys, Marmaduke seems to suck.  Alot.  I laugh at that about as much as I laugh at Family Circus. -___-

Non Sequitur is cool.  Lots of political humor that's actually funny.

Non Sequiter is good, but I really can't stand the ones involving Danae(the bratty kid)...Not to mention she has that stupid miniature horse with her now... -_____-

Mwahahahahaha- you're already falling into my trap, Bill, for I ALSO think the Non Sequitur strips featuring Danae are quite lacking compared to the rest of the comic, which is quite good.

I love Danae and the horse!  Grrrrrr............(although the other ones are better, I still like Danae......)

On the subject on Garfield, I agree with this quote:
Quote

Garfield is ok... used to be better. The humor (changed it =P) has always been hit-and-miss... it just misses a lot more often now.

Even though I don't think the comics are very funny at all, I still like the fat cat.  Garfield is very

VGcats.com.  Some of the best comics ever.  And Grey Ninja's quite cool as well.  And I'm always a fan of random sprite comics.
