Personally, I didn't think Prince of Persia was that great.  It was an excellent game, no doubt, but...I don't know, I guess I'm too much of a communist - I want to see everyone get an award!

I have a feeling that a few years from now PoP will be like the game equivalent of The English Patient.  We'll all be like "why did THAT game win?"  I haven't played PoP for more than like five minutes in a store demo but it hasn't really grabbed me like some other titles this year.  I REALLY doubt it's better than a f*cking Zelda game.  Odds are if Wind Waker was released later in the year it would have won console game of the year for sure.

At least Zelda won for Art Direction.

Oh and an exclusive Xbox game didn't win for the third year in a row so I guess these awards aren't total sh!t.

The main thing I hate with awards is when one thing wins too much (LOTR:ROTK at the academy awards) but this time its worse because Zelda was way more deserving and PoP won way to *beep* much.

Damn. Looks like PoP and KOTR cleaned house.

It seems the list leans towards multi-platfrom titles. Not a lot of exclusives took home hardware. The only rationalization that I can think is that if everyone can get access to it and [theoretically] enjoy it, give it the gold star (Or plaque, whatever they give.)

P.S Was Call of Duty really that good to get overall GOTY? I admit to being a but daft on the PC-Gaming scene, but I just don't feel/see the buzz around it like say id's or Valve's FPS franchises.

It's really just MoH: Redux. Only shorter. :¬] I guess people like that kind of game.

Can any of you look at this without your Nintendo glasses on?

IMO POP was way better than Zelda, at least it didnt bore me to death.
