Jeepers! Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem Now Available for Xbox, PlayStation 2 and GameCube

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2004--THQ Inc. today announced that Scooby-Doo!(TM) Mystery Mayhem, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and based on the classic Scooby-Doo!(TM) television series, is now available for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, Xbox(R) game console from Microsoft and Nintendo(R) GameCube(TM) at retailers throughout North America.

"Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem is the most captivating Scooby console game to date," said Eric Doctorow, chief operating officer, THQ. "Not only does it have the quirky humor and ghoulish fun of the classic cartoon, but it also features a new style of adventure gameplay that calls for cooperation between Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, leveraging character-specific skills and friendship to successfully solve the mystery."

About Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube

Scooby, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy are back in an all-new adventure based on the classic cartoon series. Players will lead their favorite teenage sleuths through Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem to solve a mystery of supernatural proportions. Players must maneuver Scooby and Shaggy, each with his own unique abilities, including crawling though holes, donning scuba gear for underwater exploration and climbing to retrieve out-of-reach items. Adventure-style gameplay involves capturing and outrunning monsters, searching for clues, hilarious costume changes and puzzle-solving in five creepy environments such as an abandoned movie set, the ghoulish Wild West, a dank bayou, and a monster-infested laboratory. Each of these sprawling locations features multiple levels with numerous cut scenes and climactic boss battles. True Scooby-Doo fans will recognize authentic cartoon voice actors and effects from the cartoon such as canned laughter and classic catch phrases.

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem for Nintendo's Game Boy(R) Advance shipped last fall and is also available at retailers nationwide. Scooby-Doo! 2: Monsters Unleashed(TM) for Game Boy Advance and PC CD-ROM are scheduled to ship in conjunction with the feature film of the same name later this month. Mmmmpf... Who cares about YAMG (yet another mediocre game) when there's more good games coming out than you can buy?

Hmm, I bought "Night of 100 Frights" last year when it dropped to twenty bucks, and it was actually a pretty enjoyable game (though the boss fights sucked). This one might be worth looking into, at least...
