Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow Release Dates

Ubisoft is excited to announce that the Xbox, PC and GBA versions of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, the new adventure from the world of Tom Clancy, is on track to ship for the end of March. Due to development issues, and the groups' commitment to making these versions the same high quality as the Xbox version, the PS2 and GameCube will launch at a later date. This date is still to be confirmed.

Cited as "one of the most anticipated games of 2004" (according to MTV's "Ultimate Video Game Countdown"), Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow was also praised by Mark MacDonald, executive editor of Electronic Gaming Monthly, as basically providing two games in one. There's a single player mode and an "incredibly addictive" online version.

About Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow:

Inspired by the world of Tom Clancy, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow centres around the story of Sam FisherTM , a lone operative waging a one-man war against an Indonesian terrorist network. Empowered with the Fifth Freedom - the right to spy, steal, destroy and assassinate to protect his country - Fisher embarks on a mission that will take him to the far-most corners of the globe and into the shadowy world of international espionage, encountering numerous threats and begging the question, "Whom can you trust?"

"Empowered with the Fifth Freedom - the right to spy, steal, destroy and assassinate to protect his country"  *puke*  As if being dreary wasn't enough for espionage and war games, they have to go throw some blind, macho patriotism into the mix.  Is this game actually developed in France?  That would be pretty ironic.

Translation: MS gave us money hats again.  Let's hope Ubisoft doesn't complain if the Cube versions sells the least because it WILL if it's released at a later date.

I am gonna probably get the Cube version if it has the online play that is hinted at. If not I am just gonna wait until I get Live again.

I'm getting tired of these limited exclusive deals. At least say 'we decided to make this deal because of the money involved, afterall, we are a business like any other'.  But no, we get the lame excuses.  Pony up some ducketts Nintendo, because there is no turning back from this way of business now that good ol' Billy is in the game..

Does that mean Ubi Soft is actually developing the ports in house and not farming it out to some incompotent developer, like they did with the first Splinter Cell?

Not necessarily. I mean, it came late too.

Look at what I quoted, Bloodworth- I was referring the line where they said the Gamecube and PS2 versions would "the same high quality as the Xbox version."

Yep, I believe the PS2/GCN version [one in the same, really] is being developed by Ubi Shanghai, as the first was. Expect inferiority and delay. Hopefully GCN and PS2 versions will be able to play together at least.

Why are the PS2 and Cube versions of Splinter Cell considered so inferior?  I have the Cube version and it seems like a pretty solid game to me.  What specifically are the problems with it?

Here's the link to the IGN Head-to-Head. Basically... the graphics are worse, the frame rate is worse, they took significant parts out of the game, they reduced difficulty. Control wasn't too refined for the GCN, either.

i don't think that helps very much renny.  if you couldn't tell, most of us aren't very big ign fans.

I have only played the one downloadable mission (I beat the game). But the Kola Cell mission was superior to everyone that was put in the game

That's very distressing- what's even worse is the Gamecube version is in fact a port of the PS2 version, which is in of itself a very inferior port of the XBox version. I wish Ubisoft would just do it themselves- the ports would turn out a LOT better.

I hate IGN, but their Head-to-Head articles seem to be accurate.
