I used to be in love with all Hong Kong movies (Fave movie ever is THE KILLER, CHOW_YUN_FAT, JOHN WOO). I think ever since I seen KILL BILL I been all over everything EAST 1nce again. So my ? is , does any one have any suggestions on some recent flicks that i might have slept on. Recently I've seen: HERO AZUMI 2002 So Close I just noticed that the title topic looks kinda like porn or something "other" than what I mean. Help me out.

There's a film called "Samurai Fiction" which is more a modern-day traditional samurai flick (yes, a JPN film), and probably makes a better alternative to The Last Samurai depending if you acknowledge Tom Cruise's existence.
I too like "other" 'ASIAN-STYLE ACTION MOVIE' kind of movies, especially thanks to the powers of the INTERNET. (!)
I admit, The Killer was awesome, quite sad tho, but I like 'A Better Tomorrow II' better. That "last" scene had more dead people than Saving Private Ryan's Normandy invasion.

If "Asian-style" refers to traditional kung-fu movies, then I have one thing to say - Legend of the Drunkeon Boxer. It's quite possibly one of the best of it's type I've seen, and despite the incredibly un-funny humour and horrible dubbing, it's got some of the most amazing stunts I've ever seen. I never knew that a human being was capable of such amazingly complex and...well, drunk movements. You must see this if you're any fan of kung-fu (and I'm not much of a fan, yet I still loved it).
Of course, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is one of the most amazing movies in a good long while (of any genre), but it's not your traditional kung-fu, so I didn't mention it there.

I remember there was some crazy kung-fu film where the hero tore out a guy's intestines and then choked him out with them! HA HA! It seems kind of redundant though like stabbing a guy in the face with a sword set on fire.
I'm not too familiar with kung-fu flicks but the best I've seen would be Jackie Chan's Police Story. The story and the dubbing are ridiculous but it's funny so it works. Like all Jackie movies the stunts are amazing and the end fight is a f*cking huge battle royale in a mall and EVERYONE goes through a window or a piece of furniture.
Another film I recommend is Rapid Fire which stars Brandon Lee. It's an American film but it's still a great kung-fu movie with Brandon taking on an entire criminal organization single handedly. It's of course total fluff but the action never stops and the fight scenes are fantastic.

Ah, I remember Rapid Fire, I like that one.
The crazy kung-fu flick you're talking about might be "Riki-Oh: The Story of Riki" with rediculous amounts of gory kung-fu action that puts the old Mortal Kombat moves to shame. Riki tore the guts out of some sumo-sized dude using his fist, and the film is also home to the "exploding head" clip that showed up on the original Daily Show on Comedy Central.
