Title: iQue Competition Held in China
Post by: WindyMan on January 07, 2004, 06:47:40 PM: A Chinese supermarket hosted a two-day event to help promote Nintendo's oddball game device.

On November 22nd and 23rd, Nintendo held a launch event for its China-only gaming system, the iQue. It was a competition featuring Mario Kart 64 and Wave Race 64, with the winners of each receiving some iQue gear, with the grand prize winner getting something special, a framed Shigeru Miyamoto autographed picture of Mario.

You can take a look at photos of the event over at Nintendo's iQue page. All the text is in Chinese, you don't need to read a foreign language to look at pictures.

Post by: Rob91883 on January 07, 2004, 09:11:24 PM: You will only have one $6 game inside your controller. You can't buy extra Flash cards, so you will always have to delete the previous game on your card.( But you don't have to pay for games you already payed before)

this could definitely hamper sales of the ique. while the initial price of the ps2 is much greater than the ique, games will most likely be much cheaper due to piracy/counterfeiting. i'd like to see some sales data in the future.

But if the Piracy grabs the PS2 and the price of games goes right down, then sony will pull out, they wont stick around to make a loss on console sales.
