Title: Final Fantasy 12?

I was browsing the web and happened to come across gamecube network.com and there was a link called ffx11 wallpaper.....i clicked.."Here is the exclusive to GCN wallpaper for the just revealed Final Fantasy XII. Now this has been rumored for the Nitendo GameCube so we decided to bring this amazing wallpaper showing of the first artwork for the game." is what i saw.....i wondered if this rumor was true....thanks!

I hate to be the one to feed the fires of rumordom but, I found an interesting interview on the topic. Don't know if it's legit. Just thought you might like it. I hope to God it's real. This game is supposed to be a traditional RPG not like FFXI or FF:CC. Not that I have a PROBLEM with CC.

EDIT: Oh yeah and if you want to fantasize (no pun intended) over the game, you can watch the trailer. It looks really interesting. Some of that footage makes me wonder if its on the PS2 at all. One of the monsters in there looks exactly like that dopey looking thing from FFTA.

berny, the date on that article is feb 2, 2003.  it's kinda old.  i would have thought we would have heard something more about it by now.  if nothing else, ign.com would be posting the rumor right about now.

Yeah I noticed that too. That's why I wasn't sure if I should bother posting it. But I figured what the hey. I'd never heard of the article before. Plus, even if it is made up, it's still interesting. I checked all over the place and no other site mentioned this game on GCN.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that interview WAS a fake. It was supposed to be in Famitsu (or some other Japanese gaming mag) at the time, but when the magazine came out it wasn't in there. Just someone's idea of a joke I think.
