Title: NEED HELP WITH MANUAL PLEASE HELP!!!
Post by: Hose1981 on December 13, 2003, 11:59:29 PM

I just got a GameCube from a friend, but I forgot to ask for the console's manual.
I know that it can't be that difficult to operate, but nevertheless I have some questions.
I tried to download the manual in PDF format from the official site, but it doesn't work.
Either the file or the link must be corrupted/broken.

If you know where I could download an ENGLISH manual in PDF format, please let me know.

I tried looking for it using Google but I came up with nothing.

All help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Best regards, GC RULES!!!!

There's not much to know. On the back, everything fits only where it belongs, on the front you should start to fill the ports from left to right. The BIOS-configuration can be accessed by holding A during the bootup sequence, inserting no CD before startup or leaving the lid open before powering the device up. Don't cover the ventilation ducts on the side. Use first party accessories if you value durability (3rd party memory cards tend to fail), however, third party harware will not damage the Cube itself. That's all I can remember and likely more than you need.

Thanks a lot for your help man, however my questions are about the correct game swaping sequence...

Lets say I've finished playing and I want to turn the console off... what do I do:

1.Open the disk cover, take the disk off, close the cover, turn the machine off.
                                            OR
2.Open the disk cover, take the disk off, close the cover, PUSH THE RESET BUTTON and turn the console off.
                                            OR
3.Just turn the console off, and then everything else?

Lets say I want to change the game during game play, what do I do:

1.Open the disk cover, take the disk off, put the other game in, close the cover and press RESET
                                                           OR
2.Open the disk cover, take the disk off, put the other game in, close the cover and the game will be automatically be
  detected and It'll start?

And what is that PUSH sticker on the center of where the disks "lock", whats it for??

I generally just turn the console off, and it's never caused any problems for me. Taking the game out before you turn it off couldn't hurt, either. Resetting before you turn the machine off, I think, is more a trick that was necessary back in the NES days to prevent the save battery on the cartridges from arbitrarily being erased.

You would have to turn the console off or reset it at some point between playing games- if you just swap discs, your Gamecube will kindly ask you to put the original disc back in.

You do exactly what is says- push on that little button. It pops the disc up from its locked position, making it easier to take out. Really handy, if you ask me.

Well when I turn it off I open the lid while the machine is still on and wait for it to come to a stop(its faster that way) then I press the PUSH button to take the game out.

To change games you can avoid turning it off by opening it, changing discs, and then pressing reset.
