Title: Free EGM subcriptions for all!

Well, if you are a US citizen anyway. Sorry foreigners. Click here and fill out the form. Consider this my Christmas gift.

I will now have free subscription to GamePro, EGM, and Nintendo Power which is only technically free because of the Zelda Collectors Disk which I would have paid $20 for alone. Hurray for free things!

From my understanding it will add a years subscription if you currently have one.

I'm getting GameDeveloper, GamePro, GameInformer, and now probably this for free, mostly thanks to this forum. I need to invest in a coffee table for them or something.

I have come to the conclusion that the only thing worse than being a Canadian gamer is being a PAL gamer.

So does any American want to get a free subscription for me and then send the issues to me?  No?  Didn't think so.

I got GamePro free like I will be getting EGM free. It was on some page hidden deep within the GamePro site. It was from a few months back so I doubt they are still offering it.

How does it work for Canucks?  It says right at the bottom "Offer valid in U.S. only" which means no Canadians.  Even if you just filled out the state with a province and the zip with a postal code I doubt they'll send you any issues.  Unless you found a different way to make it work.

Well I decided "what the hell" and filled out the form with my Canadian address.  It doesn't stop you and seems to go through so we'll see what happens.  I guess it's worth a shot.  I doubt it will work in the end though.  The only way I see it working is if there's no human interaction until it's too late and they've already packaged everything up.

Score! First Gamepro and now this. I ordered my free Gamepro months ago though. I think they forgot about li'l old me. I don't care about them though. I like EGM better. They aren't *AS* anti Nintendo as Gamepro. At least I don't think they are...

The Gamepro one is for US residents only but they still have field for country and they call the field zip/postal code which seems odd since if it only applied in the US wouldn't it just say zip code?  Anyway I did what I did with the EGM one and just submitted the info and it accepted it.  We'll just see what happens I guess.

It might have just been how there software was made for the form.  Also I think they still call it a postal code and a zip code.. Oh well doesnt hurt to fill it out if your outside the US.

Heh... I've been getting free GamePRO since March of '04.  I called them once and asked if I was still supposed to be getting it for free (not that I mind, just after the first extra six months, I kinda felt like I was really ripping them off) and they were all "Do you want us to stop sending you free magazines?" and I'm like "Well, not really." and they were like "Well then, shut your mouth."

Yeah, after like three years the GamePros stopped coming.  I still haven't gotten my last free EGM subscrition though :P

I signed up for the EGM one, but after I had filled in the information and clicked, there was no confirmation screen or anything. It went straight to some other Cyber Games site or something. Is this a concern?

I think there is a new mag called "Game Developers" that's out.  The mag had an insert for a free year subscription.

I signed up for the Cyber Games thing it sends you to, and there's no confirmation page or anything for that one either. You probably don't need to do it. Plus after I signed up, it said something about me not being able to participate in thier tournaments since I'm Canadian.

Free stuff is good if you set up an email account strictly for spam and don't really care if it arrives or not. I have so much junk coming to be now that its ridiculous. Thankfully, I recycle!

My first free EGM showed up the other day. I was reminded why I never felt like signing up for a real subscription. It's incredibly cluttered and anything really worth reading will show up for free on (the vastly superior) 1Up.

Got mine the other day too. I believe it's the August 2006 issue. The magazine offered nothing substantial, but it was free and makes for a good read in the bathroom. I suspect as the Wii launch gets closer and NDAs expire, the free subscription to EGM will be worth every penny.
