Title: What ever happened with the Triforce?

What happened with the whole Triforce thing? I had high hopes for the Triforce AC hardware. It was supposed to mean increased third party support by the way of Quick ports of good arcade games. F-Zero and Star Fox are great starts, but is that it? What about Capcom? Powerstone 3 or a new Capcom vs game on the Triforce hardwayre would be great. Namco? They originally said Ridge Racer would come out for the Cube. The Gamecube has very litle car racing games (Not futuristic like FZero) Why not make the new Ridge Racer on the Triforce?????

I wouldn't be that hard to port it. I don't think a game like that would have much in the way of translation problems. But let's hope they get some of the reports bugs out of the game before release.

The thing that sucks is that there's not a decent arcade for at least 30 miles where I live. At least these games are coming out on the home systems too.. Maybe if I get lucky, I'll find an arcade eventually. I want to play Star Fox Armada and F-Zero AC really badly.

I used to have an arcade near me, but then they went under. Now, the nearest arcade is over an hour away. I hope that they'll have those F-Zero AC units in Orlando, when I go on vacation. XD

THe question comes to mind...when was the last time such a large group of peopel were so interested in any arcade games...along time ago. Maybe, Triforce will revitalise the arcade market.

Stay on topic, please. The Triforce.
It was announced, the Sega and Namco starting making games for it. Arcade games take just about as long to develop as console games (maybe a bit less), but take much longer to distribute (a DVD-sized case versus a fragile board or a half-ton customized cabinet). F-Zero AC should be coming in the summer (in Japan, of course), and Namco's Star Fox shooter either later this year or early next.
You'd all better hope you've got some arcades with good import contacts if you want to see them over here. 'Cades with a lot of bemani games are a good example.

I could've sworn the Triforce used a optical disc medium for games so in reality all you'd have to do is open it up and switch the game inside.. but it is also true that there will probably be different control setups for games. Arcade games are more expensive to make b/c of the actual casing if they are individualized instead of using standard casing like the Neo Geo.

wow in that n-sider article it says that you will be able to use gamecube memory cards to transfer stuff between the arcade and gamecube. that sounds cool but i wonder how it could be used..

The Triforce seems to have somewhat dropped out of the light for a bit, but I am sure that will change. The deal where you can transfer saves sounds very good to me, does anyone know if this will work two ways, instead of downloading them, can you upload them? This would be a great feature for games and seriously open them up to be played longer.

The last Namco arcade game I saw was Soul Calibre II. And that's a while now. The latest Sega arcade that I know of is Daytona USA 2. It's not like because of Triforce that Sega and Namco should now rush to start making new arcade games. F-Zero AC is something I absolutely DIE TO PLAY, and really, is Star Fox 'Armada' an arcade game? I know it spells Nintendo's return to the arcade, but what else will Namco and Sega make for Triforce? Seriously? The only thing I see is that they port their old games over. Daytona 1/2 would be cool, Time Crisis 1/2, Crisis Zone would be even cooler. That reminds me, we need some light-gun games for Gamecube! And seeing as Namco made a gun of it's own for PS2, they could do one for Nintendo!.

The only memory card slots i've seen on arcade games are the old Neo*Geo games. NAOMI games are made to support VMS slots, but they don't use them in the US because there's too many idiots that would stick gum in them, or screw them up some other way. i doubt most arcades outside of Gameworks and maybe Dave & Busters would want to deal with having to repair card slots every few weeks.

apparently korean money is the same weight as a quarter. My arcade has a korean dance machine called "the pump!" blows DDR out the water...anyways my arcade imported it and it did pretty well. Arcade games arent very text intensive...and feature alot of english dispite being japanese or korean. So it might be reasonable for soemone to receive f-zero and star fox here...they would just need to modify the change part(which arcade owners are very killed at)

The NFL Blitz cabinet in my arcade had a memory card slot for N64 mem cards. I only had a couple customized plays, so I never tried it.

Ok, now, about what other games will they make...well..let's treat the Triforce as it's own system. Maybe it will have it's own games, right? It's own developers, just for the Arcade, like developers JUST for the PC. Maybe Sony and Microsoft will get interested and try to compete with the Triforce, starting the race again. Though will this take away the love for Consoles?! O.O! :: gasp:: ! Nooooooo!
