i can't say i blame bloodworth for locking the other one, it was crashing and burning and i didn't like it anymore anyway :\ partially my fault, which is kinda annoying, aslong as this one stays on topic.as for me i'm online from between 11am to 4pm up untill about 10:30 pm, what that translates to in crazy US time i'm not sure, and berto being a zombie only confuses me as to what the time is over there ^_^
and now, back on topic, Mario and Luigi for GBA hits friday, and i'm faced with a dilemma, i prommised my self i wouldn't buy anymore games this year, but it sounds sooooo good! to buy or not to buy...

I guess it didn't really come as a shock though, since there was so much crap going on - we had thought that about the thread for some time - though i didn't really care too much.
I don't know if we get the WHOLE LotR trilogy as a marathon, like they did with Matrix. I know though that we are getting the extended editions: Fellowship is first, then Two Towers. These aren't back to back, so I've heard, they are released seperately for four days or so each. When Two Towers finishes it's run, RotK is released the next day (26th Dec).
Its gonna be so cooool.

Those yanks have no idea of the world around them do they, yet some are so into enforcing the American way to the rest of the world.....it's pretty sad, I think.
There is this HILARIOUS 'music video' of George Bush and Tony Blair 'singing' the duet Endless Love, with Bush as Lionel Richie and Blair as Diana Ross. Their mouth movements form various speeches and announcments were spliced and edited to make it sounds like they were singing.

*Im starting to see more game commercials here, ive seen ads for Backyard Wrestling, XIII, Prince of Persia, the Mario Kart one, that PS2 ad with all the people and others... that i forgot. The absence of GBA advertising anywhere is worrying me a bit, hopefully there will be some Mario and Luigi ads though.
The backyard wrestling commericial is so sad, its shows all these 'super cool' moves and claims its "as interactive as Tony Hawks Pro Skater", whatever THAT means. Also shows the pathetic graphics, and claims them to be "Stunning!", and shows playboy and/or maxim magazine or whatever giving it a whopping THREE STARS, as if that's supposed to impress people, heh. Then it shows PS2 and Xbox logo's then some retard screams out "rated M for MATUUURREEEE. Ive only seen that one on MTV, but it's on heaps.
The commercial for XIII makes the game look really good, has impressive footage from the game, and actually shows the GameCube logo, and its the first and biggest logo they show, yay! Saw that on channel... 7 i think it was. Also Prince of Persia PS2 ad is on heaps, and it looks really good, goddamit i want the GC version, i wish it was out here, oh well i'll get it next year. Love that Mario Kart commercial (yes we got the same one as the US did, but with slightly different gameplay footage and voice over), but i need to see it more, come on Nintendo Australia, actually spend that money! Oh, and that PS2 ad is wierd, with all the people... and the tower of people... and... it scares me. It doesnt even show any games, or even the console, oh well its cool i guess, meh. At least it's not as bad as the Jak II commercial... which scared me deep inside. *curls into a ball*
Oh yeah, how could i forget about the XBOX MALL TOURS -__-. I swear if i hear about them one more time im going to... register my disgust on the internet. Xbox is a huge sponser of MTV, and they do lots of Xbox promoting and show clips of losers pretending to have fun playing Top Spin or Project Gotham Racing 2 like every five minutes. Oh yeah and im getting an Xbox sometime between now and christmas.

I know I know, it's his choice to make, and the fact that he's getting it for free is more of an incentive to have one, but hey, Mario owning an Xbox is kinda funny ain't it?
You can just scratch your heads and wonder why the hell I'm saying this in the first place, Mario most of all, it's just that now, Mario is the first person I know who has an XBox. Not one of my friends has an Xbox (they all have PS2s), so I find it kind of weird.
The thing about Xbox is that I just hate it. There, I've said it. As much as I like to remain as unbiased as possible when it comes to other consoles, I just can't muster up the same will power to bottle my hatred of MS and the XBox (N-Gage comes second). It's only a small part to do with Rare, but it's more to do with Bill Gates and MS. I know the same can be said about us and our 'worshipping' of Shigeru Miyamoto, but the sight of people worshipping Bill cause he and his minions invented an easy-to-use-but-not-really-stable operating system is just a bit out there. And just view this video to see what i mean. It's not Bill Gates, but you'll get the drift.

We love Shigsy cause he created characters and worlds that have captured our imaginations and hearts. He's like the Walt Disney, or Steven Speilberg, or George Lucas of games.
When asked about all three consoles, the best I can do is just say that each one has it's good points and bad points, but that I would prefer Nintendo's console.
My point is that I can only really come off as a NIntendo purist. It drives me mad that I can't seem to ever get comforable mentioning PS2 and XBox in the same light as NIntendo, cause it only seems to give people more of a reason to piss me off.
If it continues, I'll just have to vent my anger on someone. I've been more and more tempted to actually beat the living crap out of one guy who only EVER says to me that Xbox was the greatest and Nintendo sucked ass. It haunts me to no end. It's like they will never stop until they 'convert' me to the cool side. Hurting someone seems to be the only answer.
The next best thing is F-Zero X's Death Race
.I am only happy when playing games on a Nintendo system, because even though the games come far and few, I know that I'll enjoy them, and more so simply cause they're on a Nintendo.
The only time I'll buy another company's system is if Nintendo go third party, and abandon console making forever. And judging by recent announcements, that seems pretty much unlikely, and that makes me an evern more happy man.

He's a very influeential man, if you look around the web you might find a movie of him getting a whole crowd to chant "Developers, developers, developers, developers" with him. It was those skills that made M$ send him to Australia when Telstra announced plans to replace he OS on ALL their computers to Sun OS, because the didn't like the XP licencing agreement. Really though, he is a lunatic. Play that movie in double speed, the audience sound like squealing pigs (really, they do)

i've talked mum into buying me Mario and Luigi for christmas and Starfox Adventures, thanks Shifty and Infernal for the tips about KMart and Big W (i can get a further 5% discount at Big W
) and that means i won't drop the games i'm currently playing (or half playing *points to most GCN titles*) but it does put my getting of a PS2 for christmas somewhat in doubt, but that's okay i'm not in that much of a rush to get one....... or am i...speaking of PS2 related shenanigans is the futurama game any good does anyone know? even if it's medicore I'll still end up getting it, i <3 futurama ^_^, also read this description of FFX by Big W's website

As for different versions of POP, the differences are very slight. Sure, the XBOX version may look better, but it is because the platform is more PC-developer friendly, with some more grunt. The GC version could have been up to that same standard if they put in more effort, but I guess with three simultaneous versions being developed at once, they weren't going to be the same.
According to IGN, the GBA/GCN link has a couple of bonuses, particularly unlocking the original POP and some health bonus dealy. And the XBOX version has POP2 to unlock. *gets weighing scales out for some reason*
But my choice is already made. Go the Cube!

Alright, you want to know what brought that on? I am currently not feeling that well, and missed a day of work because I am sick. I am treating it with copious amounts of alcohol. But that's irrelevant. I don't really care what she did. She didn't deserve to be treated in such a fashion by someone who didn't even know her.
I backed off earlier in the conversation, because I knew that if I continued, it would result in a pretty big war. When I was arguing with him over SUPER, I was becoming more and more irritated, because his arguments were just pathetic. (seriously... an extra folder in your favorites folder is a major problem?) In the end, I became irritated enough with him to do what I didn't want to do at the start, and simply blocked him. By that point I was feeling pretty embarrassed that I had once considered him a friend. I thought I picked friends better than that.
As far as it not concerning me... I suppose you could say the same thing about some guy walking down the street watching some neo-nazi beating up some black guy. It really doesn't concern him, does it. So by your logic, he should just keep walking. By my personal code, I CANNOT do that.
Ms. Pikmin, I'm sorry. But this is a fight I simply cannot back down from. If PIAC hadn't gotten banned last night, I wouldn't even be here right now. I was prepared to walk away for good. This fight wouldn't have even gone public if PIAC hadn't made his chat log public. As far as I am concerned, this fight was between me and PIAC.
S-U-P-E-R, if you are reading this, I want you to know that I think that you and me are square now. I over-reacted when you and I fought before. Mods who use their power lightly is something that really and truly bothers me. But I also have profound respect for those who make the right choice when confronted with a difficult situation. Banning PIAC could not have been an easy thing to do, and I have nothing but respect for you for actually going through with it. You made the right choice, when I know that it would have been very difficult to do.

Yeah i dont relly know what I would do during a cold Christmas. Sit by a fire or something? We ussually goto the beach on Christmas and you spend the day outside, everyone is outside and everyone is happy, which makes Christmas special. And then theres boxing day, when theres always a cricket game on Telly and you can watch that or you can go outside and play cricket with your mates.

I don't think I'll ever get used to the idea of a 'white christmas'. I like spending Christmas with the family at the beach, bikini-clad babes running around looking for some action, topless chicks sunbathing in full view of the little kids, me getting tanned, getting your feet burnt off by stepping on the oven-like concrete, and seagulls giving you hell for not feeding them.
THAT'S what I like about summer - it just so happens that Christmas is part of it.
There's more to it that just that, but then I'd be delving into my personal life, and you don't want to know about that.

. We sit around and talk bout stuff. Althoug this year will be a change. Will be the first without my grandfather whom pasted away in May. Thanksgiving was kinda strange too. Then to conclude X-Mas Eve, my family sits down to a big dinner at whosever house we are at. On X-Mas morning (bout 7 am), my parents like to video tape us kids coming around the hallway corner into the family room and seeing all the stuff on the ground. After a few hours of opening gifts, playing with them we have a lttle breakfast. Some people come over and we might open more gifts, have more food, watch tv, play with gifts more, then comes another big dinner.

I completely forgot that you guys have sweltering Christmases. That's a pity. Granted where I live, a white Christmas is only slightly less rare, it's still fun to wake up and open presents and look outside at the snow and open presents and play in the snow and open presents.

Last year though, I got the cool ass 'James Bond: The Secret World of 007' by Dorling Kindersley, one of my fave publishers of informative books (they're so detailed!).
Its a shame the pressie i got for my sister wasn't as cool
Since me and my sister are all 'grown up' now, Christmas morning at my house just involves waking up, yelling HAPPY CHRISTMAS to each other, then going down to have some weet bix or something
So it's not all that flash, until we go to a relative's place, and since they have heaps of little kids, it gets more fun, and then we go places
You know, it WOULD be cool to wake up on christmas and see snow EVERYWHERE, but then getting places would be a hassle.

I just got back from playing Mesablanca. I finish the race second becasue the stupid computer resetted me to the middle of the course when I didn't need it, losing my tricky and boost. I threw the controller half-way across the room and left in a huff. IN A HUFF.
I fear playing videogames with my wavebird because I have thrown it more times in the past three days then in the whole other time I have owned it. The other day I got frustrated with Metroid Fusion and I actually bit my GBA SP. Yes, I bit it.

That would be bad. I get mad at Mario Kart sometimes and VJ VERY often but smashing stuff ain't my style. I cool down by playing Mario Kart on 50cc and dominating the computer players who's AI is set to 3. Either that or I listen to music. I don't follow any of the rules for braces. NOT ONE. I'm actually chewing starburst as I type this. Funny thing, I went to the orthodontist yesterday, and he says me wearing the rubber bands moved my teeth TOO much, yet I hadn't worn them in 2 weeks prior to that. And before that I only wore them at night even I was supposed to have them on all day. Dentists are stupid.

Actually, most of the threads that have been said by me have actually been said by my older sis. I've never said "hun" in my life. It sounds gaaay. *shrugs* And I'm seriously telling the truth. But yeah, the levels were great. It was the first 3D fighter I'd seen where if you fall out of the arena you don't die straight off.. You kinda.. Burn in lava or get eaten away by acid. Plus there was that cool level that had the pond out back, and the blood would float around. TAKE THAT, NATURE.

It was also cool that in places with water, you would only lose life if your head was underwater.
The trick to success in that game was to find a move that comes out QUICK that chains into combo, and just turtle/counter everything a la Killer Instinct 1. My favorite was Executioner, starting combos with B+(quick attack button).
Xiao Long had an infinite combo, IF you could get at the opponent's back.

Edit: I've broken many controllers before. I throw them around, I pound them on the floor. The first controller I had ever gotten is the only one that has stayed with me this long. (you no the one that comes with the cube) They must make those extra hard or something.

I believe him. So I'm leaving with my soda and retard teacher says "THROW AWAY" so I make sad face and begin to cry. She doesn't care. I throw out soda. Stu looks at me and shows me my bottle cap that he stole. I want to kill him.
So then in band, I have gatorade, and retarded jeff takes it gives it to retarded ryan, who throws it in the FREAKIN TRASH. I'm like "GO BRUSH YOUR TEATH WITH BUTT FLOSS" but they don't care. I hate how jeff does that stuff, and thinks it's funny and it'll get him friends. wtf? he thinks he's my friend and he walks with me down halls and I'm like "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME."
And then on the bus ride home from a basketball game, we get stuck in snow for liek a half hour and the 45 minute drive ends up being 2 hours. And had to pee. I had to pee so bad it hurt. seriously. it sucked. and on the bus ride everyone ignored me.
oh yeah, and I hate this kid who was my friend. I don't want to speak with him but then he gets sad and I feel bad and then he's all friendly and ass-like again. god.

I hate the matrix for some reason . They use the slo mo thing in the worst places and it pisses me off. I always bag it saying that the next thing you know the sex scenes will be in slow mo .

I go to gamestop looking for FF chronicles and anthology to show mum. They don't have it. I see a couple of cool dudes around 9 feet tall looking at GC games. I shot them a UR KEWL look. They shot me a HELLO LITTLE FOOT, DON'T GET STUCK ON THE BOTTOM OF MY SHOE look.
So I look through SNES games and they got Star Fox (hurrah!), Super Mario World, Super Star Wars (don't really know how good that one really is). But the one that took me by surprise......Final Fight! =0 Never seen that one anywhere. I would've bought it if it wasn't for the lack of system. Ah well, there are many other games there for SNES, I just didn't have time to look at them.

Years back I used to see plenty of awesome Sega Saturn games in Toy's R Us for around the $5 mark. Stuff like Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining the Holy Ark. COOL STUFF! But I decided to save my money and waste it all on a boring N64 (it was the thing to do

And i asked mum to go to EB and get me Tony Hawks Underground, and she comes back and says that EB didnt have the GameCube version. And if i cant get it from trusty EB, then where am i supposed to get it? :\
My sunburnt skin hurts, especially my back. But it's worth it.
Oh, and there's this rad shop just outside my school, where like, if you beat some guy at Tekken 4, you get a free drink and/or Krispy Kreme donut
Edit: Oh crap there's rumours that Kmart are dropping the GameCube, and this sale is just to clear all leftover GC stock. I wouldnt be surprised if most GCs have been sitting there since launch. Oh well.

And yeah akdaman, it's entirely Nintendo Australia's fault. They are doing nothing to support the GameCube or even the GBA here, GBA is barely outselling the GameCube, hell, the GBA is 4th here. PSX outsells both GameCube and GBA each month here. I think they should fire everyone and hire me... ok maybe not, but they definately need to unplug whatever is stuck in the way of them actually grasping at least the smallest portion of common sense they can find. I just dont understand.

Nobody buys GC games there (since they refuse to let people know they stock it). Parramatta's store is full of THUG on GameCube. At least seven copies just sitting there (The GameCube section is way up the back, BEHIND one of the Xbox display units, near the second hand N64 games.) There's no way you'd be able to reach around and get a game, you can just kind of see them sitting there. Great way to make money, guys.
Plus I saw Target had two copies in yesterday, as well as three copies of True Crime. Looks like Activision 'found' those spare copies.

Just so you know, www.gamestop.com has a store locator thingy that will tell you if a game is at a certain gamestop near you. So then the only problem (aside from getting an SNES) will be to get Infernal to stop swimming through the games long enough for you to look for whatever game you want.

It was when we were caught in C Block. That was 2 weeks detention for us with the co-ordinator, plus me and David got 2 after schools.

Whoever said my life revolves around games? Sure I'll be able to buy more games for a while. My parent's don't yell, they just sit there and stare at you and ask you if you been doing anything illegal, which is a weird question because in all of school they've never let me out.
Going to a catholic private school is quite a bad combination, but you have to try.
I sure as hell ain't the best of academics, but I try. And as long as I try, my parents have to understand and accept that that is the best I can do.
They've had a hard time doing that, so they've turned to my sister to be the smart one in the family. She's in year 12 now, and does 4 Unit maths and all that stuff, and she's actually coming in the top 5 in pratically all her subjects. My parents have all but forgotten about me and my 'failures'. I'm in University now, and thats all i care about. I made it.
Year 12 is THE hardest year in all of schooling, because it's not just the school part, it's the psychological part of it. You DO stress out from the work, and your family gets the brunt of it. I didn't act like I stressed out, but i kept it all inside. I never let it out, which is probably why you aussies saw me in a pissed state of late, cause i let it out then.
You also deal with people choosing suicide as a way out. Every year has those who can't hack it. I knew a guy who killed himself last year. One guy that my sister used to know in her grade in primary school killed himself recently too. You start thinking if suicide is the easy way out. Even I thought about it, cause it just felt like a good idea at times when i was pissed. But there are worse. My friend's dad died DURING the HSC, so there was more pressure and emotion on him then ever before. But he pulled through. I pulled through. All my friends pulled through.
Just remember that at the end of it all, there is a 4 month holiday before you start uni/tafe/whatever, and it is better than any holiday you will ever have, because of the amount of pain you went through to get there.
Keep up the work. Try to actually do well. Just cause you've only got your sights on tafe or something doesn't mean you can slack off more.
The sh*t thing about the holidays after finishing school is finding out your UAI and finding out if you got any offers for uni. Me and my cousin got our UAIs basically a year ago this week. I got 72.45, my cuz got 62. Sure it was crappy for both of us (especially her), but we persevered. In January, our families went to sail the Whitsundays (on the Great Barrier Reef) on our own luxuary catamaran for a week. During the week, we realised that our uni offers had been sent out, so we sailed to Hamilton Island (took a whole day to get there), and hoped to the internet cafe, and checked our offers. My cousin was seasick to go, so she sent her sister and my sister to go for her. I went on and discovered an offer for the course I do now. My cousin, however, got no offers. She got the news, and started crying. Possibly the even sh*ttier thing is that her friend called on her mobile and told her before we could. Accepting my offer is a whole other story, but a great one, since i was 10000 kms away.
So I am at Uni, and she repeated year 12, and is now awaiting her UAI for a second time.
Don't drop school. There may be alternatives to getting into uni/tafe, but if you wanted to drop, you should have at the end of year 10. Now is the point of no return. You've worked too hard and gotten too far to quit now. It's an emotional time. VERY emotional.
And even though this rant may be pointless since you've already said you ain't gonna quit, I'm posting it anyway.

My sis is in Yr 12 , she is getting her results 2morrow , she is hoping for High 90s ( she is very smart ), Anyway she did not commit suicide. She is hoping to be a lawyer , my little brother is also smart , nothing but E's ( which is the highest mark for my brothers Primary school ) . I am the black sheep of the family

I couldn't see any in the pathetic GC section there anyway, so i left with my walking feet, and walked right out of there! I really regret not getting that one copy i saw it Kmart a few weeks ago, i hope its still there :S

That's how it is for me too, Knows Nothing. Quite simple, actually.
And actually, I lied about my age. I'm actually 12, and in junior high. But, some people came from the high school and let us try some of the high school material (the easy stuff for freshman) And I passed with flying colors. I am actually quite smart for my age. I never had to study from kindergarten-6th, now it's getting harder though. The junior high teachers are obsessed with getting you ready for hsc. So their chucking everything they can at me. I actually have to study now, and I got a "b" in one subject this year. But a lot of other 7th graders are failing. They can't participate in sports or anything. I tell you, being at a Catholic School, sucks. It's hard, really hard. My friend who goes to a public 7th grade, is doing multiplication in math. That's it. I'm doing algebra. Ahh, the easy way out.

Anyway, I too am in ze twelfth thingy, and am doing decently. Got a low B in European History AP and Physics, maybe a high B in Calculus, but A's other than that, plus taking my exams will help those (I got a 30 on my ACT, and my school awards a 27 or above with extra stuff). Not too hard, in my opinion, but I've always been fairly apt at getting by.

As for the academic side, you definitely need to keep it up for most of the year if you are going to get anywhere. The stress is definitely there, but you've got to keep in mind that there is a four month break after so you may as well give it your all. No regrets. That was my motto for Year 12, and I offer it to you all.

The EB games over here has a deal whereas all games bought now can be traded in for a full refund in cash within a week. However, due to the Christmas holidays, the period has been extended to January 11th. It's a good deal, and I presume it's available in Aussie as well.

Yeppo, EB have that deal over here, except I think the special Christmas deal thing lasts till the end of January. They give people way too much time. You just know a whole heap of people are going to abuse it. Buy a game, treat it like crap and return it on the last day. Then EB will sell those copies as new (I purchased Kingdom Hearts early this year and got some returned copy. Disc was scratched up, manual was dog eared. Bleh.) Going back a second time to get told it was a new copy and having a bitch wasn't fun.. Well, maybe it sorta was.

As far as I know the game is scheduled to come out in the US on January 4, 2004. At least this is the date that has been hanging around for a while now.
I neve got money for good grades, but when I was younger, like when before I turned 9, I would be allowed to make brownies if I did good in school. I love brownies, yummy. Which reminds me, my Mom made a whole lot of fudge last night, very good tasty delicious fudge. Since I can't really monitor his grades since they don't have any, I monitor my son on a weekly basis. The teacher sends home a weekly progress note that lets parents know if they behaved well, did all their in class work, etc. He gets no monetary rewards, just praise. And his video games activity is dependant upon keeping up in class. Recently, he seriously procrastinated on a report he was to be working on. I took games away for about a week until he caught up.

Anyway Harvest Moon was actually delayed in the US untill March 4th. And now Nintendo just released some more European release dates ...Harvest Moon is said to come out Feb 15th according to gamecubenetwork.com .
I will find out the release date later...I will ring Nintendo.

So we've got it weird to. I don't think many Aussie schools have it that way. My friends that go to other schools in Australia don't. So hmm, don't know.
I get paid for grades this way:
A=$10
B=$8

D=$0
F= they take away money -$
So if I get all A's I get 70 bucks. And that's only from my parents.
My grandparents:
A=$10
B=$7
C=$4
D=$0
F=$0 (they don't deduct from me
)And from my fav. aunt and uncle:
A=$20
B=$10
C=$0
D=$0
F=$0
And the rest of my family gives me only about $5 for everything put together.
And that's only for a trimester, which means all that 3 times a year.
MONEY MONEY!!! And I usually get all "A's" most of the time. Once in a while I get a "b" or "b+or-" I've never gotten a C in a subject my entire life.
Videogames are my life, so I have to keep my grades up in order to be able to play them.

I had to walk my dog at like lunchtime yesterday cause my mum gave him a bath and walking him would dry him off. It was a sunny, cloudless day, around 27 degrees - Mario would know. I come home, i'm so tired. Then we had to go out looking for furniture. Just being in the car with the sun on my legs made me even more tired. And I just collapsed on the bed, and i've been in bed ever since. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday either.

Yesterday was TERRIBLE, heat-wise. Lucky I spent most of yesterday playing Turtles in Time and bowling like an idiot at the RAD bowling center. Today's not much better, either. Lousy Summer.

I have no idea about the movie thing, though. ;__;

Any questions about it, just PM me or I may be on MSN. As for the video, I have no clue as to how to change it from a DAT file (which is raw data actually) to something more useful. I'm working my way around my tv tuner card at the moment, trying to compress these super-size MPEG2 files to something more respectable. I know that doesn't really help.
But most of my time is being spent at work. I officially have two days off between now and New Year's Day (Christmas Day and Boxing Day, which is the day after Christmas) so that's why I haven't been here much. Working in a warehouse-like room when it is 37 degrees is crap, let me tell you that! Stop whinging about 27 degrees Termin8!
Bill: That's an awesome report card. Hopefully I can do that well when I decide to pull my finger out next year. I ended up getting a TER (University entry grade) of 96.15 for my Year 12 results, so I can do it when I can be bothered. Its just I was having too much fun this year!

I'd get online more often but I work from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday ~ Thursday and 8 am to 4 pm on Friday, and soemtimes when I get home I am too tired to chat. I may get on tonight if I can. Friday, finally, then next week and the week after are three day work weeks. Holiday's are nice, but three days to do a weeks worth of work is going to be chaos.

I played Virtua Tennis for GBA , and it doesnt hold a candle to the ps2 version . Controls are slow , Frame rate pauses way too often ( and for too long ) ...Not enough charecters .
You would really be better off renting a GC game .

Guy Sebastian was the only one who didn't get negative comments (ones about looks don't count - many got that). Kelly Clarkson IS good, but even she got one bad comment about her trying to be too much like a diva or something like Aretha Franklin. The NOrweigien guy was excellent with a great version of U2's Beautiful Day.

INFERNAL SEZ: XIII is the crappiest thing I've purchased all year. And Vexx is one of the most underrated platform games ever. It took like half an hour before it started showing actual decent gameplay and BAM. It's hard to believe it came from the same team that made Turok Evolution. >_>

Well i really, really like Super Mario Advance 4, Mario and Luigi, Mario Party 5 and Tony Hawk Underground. All of them!
I like SMA4 the least though, a few things in it really annoy me. Mario and Luigi is BRILLIANT, already one of my favourite games of all time, play it or i hate you. Mario Party 5 is much better than Mario Party 4, it's really awesome, has surprisingly funky awesome really good music, really fun mini games and like... everything rocks about it! Mario Party 5 > all other Mario Party games combined. Tony Hawks Underground surprised me with how good it is, even though i expected it to be good, at first it seemed... a bit PS2 ish, and i was a bit pissed because you start off with one level (and the crappiest one), but after all that its awesome, so much variety in everything, you can practically do anything, and if there arent enough tricks for you, you can make your own! =O The levels are really cool too, especially the later ones.
Oh and i got NFSU for PS2, which is apparently a bad combination. It almost literally made my PS2 explode. The first time i played it the screen started stuttering, then a loud sound started coming out of the actual PS2, then the sound in the game went all spastic, then a tiny bit of smoke came out of my PS2 and it turned off O_o. Luckily the PS2 still works, but im a bit scared of putting NFSU back in it...
Sonic Advance is sold out or not available anywhere, and i want it :\. I also want SSX3! When does that Grace Bros/Myer sale end? (or has it already ended?

You might wanna check out GameFAQs, there's a few lists on what scores you have to get to in certain games to unlock the adverts and patches.
Nope, me no likey XIII, Mario.
It's just so generic. I've seen it all before in the likes of GoldenEye, Mission Impossible 64, Hitman. It offers nothing new or exciting. The cel-shading is about all it's good for, and even then you'd be hard pressed to tell stuff is cel-shaded. The environments are blurry and hazy and stuff. The comic book style stuff is amusing though. I cracked some guy over the head with an ashtray and it showed it in a few panels up the top of the screen.

That Grace Bros. sale ends January 12th according to palgn. I lost the catalogue thing.. so.. yeah. I'll head in again when I get McMoney on Friday and see if there's any scrap games left over. Wow, 18 Wheeler!
And I'm not surprised with NFSU. It seemed to be killing the Xbox when I played it, chunky bad frame rate, a strange popping noise in the music every ten seconds or so. Bleh, EA.

I had a delightful adventure in EB today old chaps. First off I spotted Billy Hatcher on the shelf (that in itself is quite amazing), but it had a nice 25% sticker whacked on it. I then traded in Enter the Stinky Matrix and stinky XIII towards it. Ended up costing me a massive $14.95.
Then I got the dudes to match K-Mart's $20 Godzilla Melee price. BAM. Then I decided to poke around and BAM again, I found a copy of Gradius III/IV on PS2. I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS GAME SINCE THE PS2'S LAUNCH. Now it's mine!

I got a gamecube when it first came out, but ive only just started doing these forums. My gamecube was less than you get in the shops because i bought it off somebody who works for Currys (Electrical store) who uses his discount to buy a cheap console with games and then sells it at profit but at a price lower than Currys. I got the gamecube a few days after it came out. My family has always been a big nintendo fan. We've always gotten Nintendo consoles above other things. If I had known about this forum, I would have been here a lot longer ago. But I only found this forum a little while ago while browsing the internet. I hope you don't consider me, an "uncool" newbie, and I understand that I am a newbie since I joined a little while ago. But I never considered myself "uncool" in people's eyes because I just joined and you are already judging me. I hope I haven't said anything that might sound stupid to you guys. Sorry if I did. So who here has seen Welcome to the Jungle ? It is highly reccomended and is like a toned down version of Bad Boys. It doesnt take itself too seriously and has some really nice action scenes.

That's not really the highlight of the trip, but then I guess it's better than telling all you guys that I went on heaps of national park bushwalks to spectacular waterfalls and mountains and lakes

Optus have revealed their new Cable Internet plans!
- The old 550MB plan has been replaced with a 1GB limit
- The old 3GB and 6GB limit plans have been replaced by a plan with unlimited downloads.
UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS.
- The old 15GB limit plan has been replaced by an 'Unlimited Pro' plan, which prolly means that you get a faster connection or something. I dunno.
BUt this is all good for Optus cable customers!
A bonus is that these changes take place automatically for us starting March 1. No need to ring them up, no fuss.
So get another hard drive, cause this is gonna be heaven!

And to everyone: Kirby Air Ride is an incredible game (saw Mario mention it). I honestly like it more than Mario Kart: Double Dash, and that is saying something.

A guy DID survive from falling off the Harbour Bridge while it was under construction. And some others have survived to since it's been finished, but then they only jumped/fell from the street level part.
You can actually walk on top of the bridge - it's a huge tourist thing.

I haven't played Heroes yet; but from what I hear, it's not some sort of Sonic insurrection, which is the only logical consequence of a real Sonic game being released. Too many people will buy this game (as I bought Sonic Adventure Battle 2) thinking: "hey! Look! It's Sonic, my old pal Sonic! He wouldn't lie to me, right?." I hope this game seriously bombs, if only to shock Sega into realising what they've done.

Just another rumour about Nintendo doing something here then, you get these sorts of things here. They're not so different than mirages in deserts: they're both born of desperation mixed with cautious hopefulness. Alright, I have Microsoft Visual C++ 6 and I want to get started. I open up the program and then what? I have no clue what I need to do to start writing the code (not that I have anything useful to write). The help section doesn't work (literally) and i can't find anything online to help me. I want to start with the simple and cliche beginner program "Hello World" but don't know where to start. Where do I write the code and how would I execute it?

I know it's not C++, so sorry if you need to learn it for school or something, but Python really is something. There are thousands of tutorials, but this one probobly takes the cake. There's also a mailing list if you want more specific help. If you're looking for web based stuff, there are (more advanced) tutorials here. It's a powerful language and it's easy to learn. It's also free.

ANYWAYGames TM is indeed a pretty good magazine, they mention monkey island and it's parrody of Sierra's random death sequences
, but they also said 'judging from the screenshots we arn't expecting much' in regards to Mario and Luigi, so they are a bit of a mixed bag, still a pretty good magazine, with an EXCELENT scoring system, instead of anything even halfway decent getting a 7+ a game that gets 5 is still a good game but not a classic, so ja, much better
