I think rumors have a lot to do with why people BUY magazines by the way. They raise peoples hopes and they like the magazine 'cause it says something that benefits them. Then the mag reports nothing on the matter again and the person forgets. One more person likes the mag.

Regarding your 'rumours':
1. I haven't a clue if Nintendo will release the Spice Cube with Donkey Konga, but I guess it could make sense.
2. Capcom have stated that they would like to port VJ to PS2, but are concerned whether it is technically possible. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be as Joe doesn't do anything the PS2 couldn't handle. I personally hope they do release it for PS2 as it deserves to sell a lot more than it currently has. A GBA version could be cool also, although I think there may have to be some control sacrifices made for that to happen which would suck.
3. There will never be a harddrive for the GameCube. That is a bollocks rumour that has no substance.

Nothing... yet. Japanese companies aren't like American companies in that they're not just thinking about the present, they're thinking about the future as well. That's why you see mysterious expansion slots on a lot of Japanese consoles, because they want to leave their options open should they decide to release an expansion. Often times the expansion slot is never even used, sometimes it is. Nintendo may never release something for that expansion slot- they just included it in case they did want to.

Zelda was NEVER realistic. The 64 incarnations of Zelda saw chibi style character design. NOT REALISTIC! The god damn internet makes everyone think we need a realistic zelda. Hell, even the spaceworld demo wasn't really that realistic. I think Link looked like a freaking pansy in that anyway. Besides, REGARDLESS of whether the original game was cartoony, that does NOT mean every other game in the series must be- I thought we wanted something different, not the same old same. Like I said, the ONLY roots Zelda has is its unique style of gameplay, and in that sense Zelda has never left. Zelda is being constantly reinvented by Miyamoto to reflect something different each and every time. You're only being hypocritical to criticize those who want a realistic Zelda by saying it'd be a rehash, then claiming Zelda needs to return to its "roots" and be cartoony. Zelda is a very versatile series, and having one definitive style for it only restricts its diversity. You may have your preferred visual style for the game, but there is no ONE style. Get over it.

I would say lighthearted but Zelda didn't become cartoony until Wind Waker. Ocarina of Time isn't realistic looking. It's not a cartoon either. In my opinion it's a dead on 3D realization of the Zelda world from the NES and SNES games. For 99% of Zelda fans Ocarina of Time's graphic style was exactly what they imagined. When screenshots were first shown no one said "that's not what Zelda's supposed to be like! They f*cked it up!"
However people did say that the first time they saw Wind Waker. Hell practically everyone did. Now most people have come to accept and even enjoy that style but it isn't what Zelda was always supposed to be. If so NO ONE would have complained or would be complaining now. We all would have said "DAMN! Now THAT'S how you do Zelda!" Many people initially backlashed against that style while no one backlashed against the Ocarina style.
If Zelda was always meant to look like Wind Waker then why is there such a huge difference between the graphics in A Link to the Past and The Four Swords? If Wind Waker was a perfect realization of the 2D Zelda games in 2D there would be no difference but there is. Plus one of the reasons supposedly for the cartoon style was for Link's facial expressions. Link just having a personality PERIOD is a huge change for the series so why would a style designed with that in mind match the original games? Link certainly never f*cking danced after beating a dungeon in the other games.
Wind Waker is a departure from the style of the other games. Regardless of how much you may like it it's different.
Anyway getting back on topic I think because of the huge backlash against Wind Waker and the fact that Ocarina of Time sold way better Nintendo will probably go back to a more Ocarina-like style. Regardless of which style supposedly fits better the game will sell better if it's not a cartoon.

In any case, Majora's Mask was a very dark game in of itself, with those highlights of lightheartedness.But it was a demo that was thrown together in less than a week, and is, in my opinion, one of the best looking and most impressive demonstrations of videogames graphics I've ever seen. Besides, I thought Wind Waker was close to the same level of quality, if not higher. I think if Nintendo put some time and effort into it, they could make a game that looked as good as the demo.

Nintendo could release a harddrive for GC, then release roms online of older nintendo games to dl (response to emulation of all old nintendo games), for it through the broadband adapters (a way to get more bba out for future lan games...)
they could also fix the memory card problem primarily with sports games, by having a harddrive. they could release demos and news every month via dl through the bba's to the harddrives either for a small fee or free for buying the hd...
they can do alot of stuff with harddrives if they have the drive to...

since it looks to be about the history of videogames, primarily nintendo, and its supposed to be hardware, I think it could be something that's going to let us play most of all the old nintendo games, maybe all emulated. with the reissues of snes games on gba, the windwaker OT bonus, the Rebel Strike old arcade bonuses, and now the Zelda old games bonus for buying a GC, I see this as a trend that might be leading to something significant.
what do you think the new product will be?

From the little I could gather from this it's some kind of death match mode which would be cool if this was a 3D game. Seeing as how in the 2D Zelda games you fight by smashing the button as fast as possible this would get old fast. Just to make things clear I'm not trying to diss the 2D Zeldas either. I just think that fighting another Link with no more strategy than bashing each other on the head with a sword as fast as possible would get boring after a couple of times. Of course this probably plays completely different than I'm picturing it.

anyway....i have heard this disappointing rumour of the Rogue Squadren series going to the xbox......they said the quality of the graphics will be downgraded (well of course) but the textures will be sharper?????
the company Factor 5 said they wanted a bigger profit and the game will be on xbox in the middle of 2004.....i have a feeling that this is very true, but i dont think it will sell good because of xbox's quality in games and graphics, sound etc.....and also when released their will be (for the first time) the full starwars collection on DVD

Essentially, between the SNES -> N64 era, Nintendo wanted a CD system. Long story short, they partnered with Phillips, it fell through, so they partnered with Sony. They had the basic system created. It would interface with the SNES and was not a stand alone system. Essentially would have been like an add-on to allow for CD games. But there were some disputes between Nintendo and Sony over profits and trademarks and royalties and licensing, and Nintendo essentially told Sony to piss off. Sony, furious over the fact that they had lost good R&D time and money spent on a new system, essentially took the prototype - codenamed "Playstation" - added a RISC processor and some ram, and made what you know it as today. Nintendo then went back to Phillips, but the deal fell through again, and that's when Nintendo started it's famous "CD is teh laem" campaign.
However, there are still some very real legal disputes over the entire affair. It always COULD happen, but it won't, because it's just so frivolous and stupid that no one would really hold it up in a court of law.
My facts might be a little rusty, but I wrote a huge article about this some years back for a gaming site.
The undisputable fact, fundamentally, is that the Playstation could NOT have existed without Nintendo.

Before reading this, repeat after me: this is a rumor with no basis in anything that I personally know.
That said, somone who works for ATI and posts on Beyond3d.com as well as another senior poster who has connections to people in the know as far as hardware goes are both saying that MS and Nintendo are likely to share the same platform next generation. As to what this means, I dont know. It could simply mean that Nintendo is buying into the XNA initiative which would allow games to, essentially, be co-developed easily for Xbox2, N5 and PC... which would make Sony the od-man out for third party support. This seems like the most likely outcome.

There are also other members of the "Japanese Crew" at this site (posters from Japan) who generally know whats up, and evidently, this rumor has been flying around Japan like mad.
The best that I can gather is something is being discussed, MS is the one that seems to be pushing the discussions... but no one knows what exactly 'same platform' means... but most of the writers/insiders for gaming companies seem to be pointing to systems that play the same games...
I think the whole thing sounds fishy as hell, and all of the best sources at gaming-age are keeping their lips sealed on this one (most have sources for these things simply because they never let things slip before they are told they can leak the info).

The GCNext will be a lap top, the screen price issue was taken care when Nintendo bought the rights to 5 million ex laptop screens, from a warehouse. Using old 386 type screeens with the new ibm chip and graphics card, to pull of a great expierence, plus the bonus of a built in keyboard and plug ins for AV and controls.
and the DS will connect to the Next, being 2 seperate screens, there for showing 2 other players webcam videos. Leaving more room for Ammo and detail to fill up the screen

Metroid prime 2 has lan play<------ these one is foreal.
Another one that I've been hearing alot is that in order to promote Donkey Konga the A yellow colored GC with Bananas logos will be released at the same time Donkey Konga will. I heard that from a supposed Nintendo Worker last year and yesterday. I hope its true!!! I will buy it!
Metal Gear Solid 3 is in talks of being ported to GC in early 2005.
Okay this I also heard from the yellow cube guy, the Nintendo Prepheral that will be shown at e3 is the infamous lcd screen shown last time. They will release it now because of alot of lan games coming out like Geist, MP2, Star Fox 2, V-Joe 2, and so on. The screen will come with a BB adapter and will sell at 60-80 bucks, and it will be rechargable like the sp (thanx to the Technology the DS will use) the battery will last around 10 hours on a 4 hour charge or can be connected to a power outlet. I truely believe this one my self.
MP 2 will be the first game to interact with the DS, its a simple funtion but will be cool, think it will be like all your stats will be on the DS instead of on the Tv screen for more viewing space, The DS will also communicate to your internet connection to play online.

Now what makes you think that Konami is gonna port MGS3 over to the Gamecube, Twin snakes hasn't even been out a month and you think konami is willing to invest in making MGS3 for cube? I don't think so. Konami basically devotes all of their resources to the market leader, which at this point in time would be Sony. sorry but I don't see this happening, though I could be wrong.
With the portable screen, I wouldn't be suprised if they ended up releasing it, but 60-80 is pushing it a little, that display looked pretty damn sharp, and i would say at least 100.
MP2 interact with the DS is an absolute must, I think that nintendo will connect the DS with all of their upcoming games.

On their previous website, they did release some information, of a sort, regarding Game Zero. They threw away all the popular rumours (that it was a racing game, a FPS etc) and said it would be completley original. They had a mock-up 'top secret' document with most of the text blanked out. If they did decide to drop hints in it, then the game would be based around a detailed character of some sorts...

Combine with some big software company. Agree for them to be second party, they get 10% of hardware sales, and keep 90% of the profits from software sold.
I mean, let's face it - the problem with Nintendo is that they can't keep developers. So let's just bond one to the console right from the get go and screw over Sony and Microsoft?
My company of choice? EA.
Second company of choice? Square-Enix.
Let them come in and meet ALL THEIR demands for the next generation system - royalties, media size, controller layout, everything. There's the saying that Miyamoto always designs the controller with only Mario in mind, so let's have EA come in and design it with Madden in mind instead.
Conclusion?
Nintendo wins.
