That was fun! Now for those of you who brought their own booze, drink up!

And now I will tell you a brief history of my life at the PGC forums.

When I first came here, I was known as "KnowsNothing" and I am currently under the name of "KnowsNothing." This was my first and only forum at the time, and to this day, it is the only one I post in more than once a month.
When I first came here, I was unfamiliar with the terminology. People often used the word "thread" but for a while the definition had eluded me. But as I progressed in my PGC career, I learned what not only what "thread" meant, but also some essential acronyms such as: LOL, LMAO, ROTFL, BTW, OMG, OMFG, IMO, WTF and some others, I'm sure.
My first avatar was one of Homestarrunner, a popular "no-arms wiley" from the hilarious flash site www.homestrrunner.com. But that one was soon replaced by a lovely message stating "I like to steal bandwidth from others." I then was avatar-less for a while, until I got my next avatar off of some hosting site. Some people may remember this avatar as "GIR riding a piggy"
After the hosting site went down, I got smartness and opened an Angelfire account.
I had my fair share of posting in multiple sections and pointless threads, but since then I seem to have gotten…umm…better.
When I was starting to get bored around here, I joined in the wacky-crazy-loonyness that is the Aussie thread. Since then, I have become a regular poster there. I have accumulated most of my posts in the Aussie thread and General Chat. I am now legally insane. Thank you, the Aussies.
Often times, I have encountered many problems and error messages on my computer. When this happened, I would turn to the town drunkard, Grey Ninja, for help. He has helped me on numerous occasions, and also has inspired me to purchase Xenogears and Metal Gear Solid for my PS, both of which I am happy with. He is also the reason I got Morrowind to work on my crappity-crap PC. Thanks you stupid drunk jerk.
I often PM people about the size of their avatars. Most people thank me for this and change them quickly. Only once have I been flamed by another person, and that person happened to be a “VIP.” Since then, I have not seen this VIP post. I think I scared her away. Tee-hee.
Throughout my stay here, I have a more sophisticated taste in videogames, and I am now a big fan of anime.
Other stuff happened too.

The reason I have stuck with PGC is the reason most people despise it. The mods. I welcome the mods and think they do a great job keepinf the forums clean. People say this site is strict, but it makes it more fun to visit. I don’t want to see huge banner avatars that take up the whole screen, and I don’t want stupid racist punks swearing at me in “AOL talk.”
I like the number of members, too. People say that it’s small, but it creates a sense of community that I really like. When I visit other forums I feel like an outsider, but from day one I felt welcome here. I think it may be the color scheme. The forums may not be too active, but that makes me look forward to any new posts.
I plan on staying here and continuing to post regularly and I hope I can bring my post count up well into the thousands. And in the words of PIAC,
“I WILL SAY SOMETHING USEFUL ONE DAY.”

P.S. I know I promised a song, but my friend with the microphone has decided to take a little vacation to New Hampshire. I’ll get the song up ASAP, but I don’t have a clue when that will be.

I'm special. Man, we really need custom titles in this place. I so want to have my title read as "Town Drunkard" right now.
But congratulations on your first 1000 posts. I don't think I even got that high on my first forum. I always felt like an outsider there though, as everyone around me was incredibly smart, and I was just.... some guy.

I'm also going to mention that I have never once been insulted/flamed by anybody on this forum (besides the VIP who I so cleverly nicknamed "Very Important Prick" or something along those lines). It just builds upon the whole sense of community and being welcomed thing I was rambling on about back then.
At least I don't remember being insulted.....well, if i don't remember it it couldn't have been that bad, now could it?

my taskbar for my computer has mysteriously located itself to a vertical position along the left side of my screen. I've tried and tried but I can't seem to get it back. How would I achieve this?

Just grab the taskbar and drag it back down to the bottom of the screen. It's nothing wrong with it, you can place the taskbar on any of the four sides of your desktop. You can also try locking the taskbar (right-click it for a dialogue box) that will keep you or whatever, from moving it again.

That was an exciting week, actually. It also came with a demo disc, and I was under the impression you could copy files from a CD to a floppy disk. I buggered the entire PC within a few days thanks to my lack of Windows knowledge. SOMEHOW I formatted the hard drive. I might of even cried from confusion. Yeah, pansy attack!

It all started in the summer of 1988. The day I got my first NES. Though only a little over 2 at the time, I immediately became entranced in the worlds of Super Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelda, and Duck Hunt. I showed immediate attachment towards the games and I can recall many memories of it: joy from defeating Bowser for the first time...hatred at the stupid dog who laughed at you when you missed in Duck Hunt. From that day forward, I have played Nintendo games ever since. Though I loved playing videogames with all my heart, I didn't start getting "hardcore" until Fall of 1996, with the release of Super Mario 64. I still remember being in complete awe of the surroundings and the incredible amount of things I could do. It was then that I started subscribing to Nintendo Power, started going online to look up game info, and anxiously awaiting the next Nintendo game to be released.
I consider myself a nostalgic gamer: one who will always treasure his old 2d games with their simple sprites. Gaming friends call me the "Old-school gamer" for my tendency to pull out a SNES game over a next-gen game. My favorite series is The Legend of Zelda series, with LttP, Wind Waker, Link's Awakening, and OoT taking up 4 spots in my top 10 favorite games.
I found PGC a loooong time ago, back when EZBoard was still around. I've never told anyone this before, though I bet noone remembers me since I rarely posted under the name "Metal Mario." Since the creation of the new boards, I've found a lot of extra time to join in the fun here, and now that I'm in college, even more
Unlike other boards, the people here are friendly and easy to get along with. And where else can you find a insanely fun Aussie thread? Even though there have been some topics that have sprung into some violent debates(topics on religion, piracy, and the still active topic on profanity come to mind ^_^), there are really no hard feelings in the end, and I appreciate that. Kudos to the hardworking staff here at PGC, and kudos to everyone who regularly posts here
