Title: Why does Roy's sword flame?? (Fire Emblem)
Post by: Shorty McNostril on September 30, 2003, 09:45:47 PM
I can't get fire emblem here so forgive my asking the obvious. But why does Roys sword flame when you attack someone? (In Smash Bros. Melee anyway) Does this happen in the fire emblem game/s?

How does my sword shot fire
How does Mario shoot fireballs and generate a cape out of nowhere?
How can guys jump and then JUMP AGAIN IN THE AIR??
Why do items appear in mid air?
How can a character be stabbed clean through the chest by Link's sword, and then just be fine?
Nothing in this game makes any sense. At all. It would be wild folly to try to get an explanation for anything, anywhere. It just does.

It's because the Sword of Seal(Roy's sword) has loads of magical power...That and the fact he's from the Fire Emblem series

I think the real question is why do the other swords not flame. Seems to me like they're all broken.

ANSWER ATTACK: It's simple. Roy dips his sword into a can of baked beans before each match. He then sharpens it on a cats tounge, and juggles watermelon while complaining about the price of nutmeg. After the cat is well and truely dead, and Roy's sword is coated in beans and blood, he'll go have a shower.
*SCENE DELETED*
.. And that's why it flames when he hits someone.

Well the game's called Fire Emblem for a reason. First of all Roy needs to have the Fire Emblem in order to use The Sword Of Seals. Second this blade has 3 different kind of attacks. A normal attack which he slices and dices. His critical attack where his blade ignites with flames(just like his flare blade attack from SSBM) and his 3rd attack is an indirect attack which the blade ignites and shoots flames. Here's a sample animation http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/luoyang/forum/roygif.gif Someone hacked the colors to green but that's Roy alright. Also... Roy's not really human...
