Title: Banjo-Kazooie
Post by: kennyb27 on September 20, 2003, 05:35:07 AM
I was wondering if anyone has seen Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge at any major outlets.  I've looked a couple places for it with no luck.  I've seen it online, but I'd rather just go buy it and play it today.  Any help would be great.

Thank you Bill for that! Im looking forward to it as the graphics look very nice indeed! Im sure it will be a blast for the GBA!! It might be the first game I buy for my new GBA I bought for a tiny $89 BRAND NEW! When the rest of the shops are selling the GBA for $159 and the GBA SP for $189 so I think I got a bargin lol. They were selling for $89 coz of a huge sale they were having all games *ALL* were selling for $49 and all GBA Games were selling for $60. The only games that were above $49 were Sould Cabular which was selling for normal retail price! It was packed the whole shop was!! I WAS LUCKY TO GET IN THE DOOR AND MANAGE TO GET MY HANDS ON A GBA!! lol GBA SP were selling for normal retail price and the GameCube was $170 and Xbox and PS2 were selling for a small $250 with 1 game so yer a pretty big bargin sale

The only problem with the graphics is that the depth perception for jumping is kind of bad.  At some points I couldn't tell when I needed to jump or just walk straight.  But it is a very fun game, not quite up to par with BK or BT on the 64.

Yeah, the view was pretty hard to get used to...I lost quite a few lives by not jumping far enough, or by trying to jump to a place that was too high and falling in swamp water, ice water, etc..

That and the fact that they used that dumb "hold b to throw your rod" minigame way too many times are my only complaints...

Grunty's Revenge was pretty lame. The animation isnt as fluid as in DKC, their previous port (In fact, it even had more frames than the SNES version did) the view is terrible, and the game is like a step backward in semi-3D GBA games. Spyro did a much better job at a 3D game gone GBA than this title did. I hope Rare does better with Sabrewolf though...

That whole fence thing drove me nuts.

I got it, and I really like it! The problem is, IT'S TOO SHORT! A skilled gamer could beat it in a couple hours!
