A giant news dump is coming directly to all of us.
The next Nintendo Direct will air on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m PT / midnight CET / 0700 JST (Thursday). It is scheduled for 40 minutes and will "focus" on late 2019 Switch releases.
Nintendo World Report will have wall-to-wall coverage of the presentation.
I could maybe see one last batch of Nintendo Selects Titles for the 3DS. This is basically the 3DS's last Christmas in any kind of retail setting and it would make sense to give it one last push.

I'm not so sure. EBGames no longer has a section for 3DS games. It is Switch only now. Even some Best Buy's seem to have cleared away shelf space for 3DS games. It may be too late to introduce some final Select titles for the system.

I feel kind of bummed out that Nintendo is porting literally everything to Switch. I get why they do it from a financial point of view, obviously, but most of their past consoles didn't get intentionally obsoleted this way and somehow it makes the Wii U feel less special. (At the same time, it also doesn't do anything to make me want to upgrade, since so many of the best games on Switch are ones I already own...)
Yeah, but TMS REALLY needed a port that ditched the tacked-on Gamepad nonsense that caused the game to interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds so Nintendo could show off the in-game Twitter feed. I never finished the game because of that.I wanted to ask what this was when you mentioned it in your previous post because I was too lazy to look it up. Yeah, that sounds dumb. I wonder if it’ll still be in the game somehow.

Makes the Wii U feel more like a con or a sleight, and the Switch still doesn't have enough of its own identity.
I'm now kind of curious which system has more: Wii U ports on Switch, or SNES ports on GBA.
Though with Nintendo making the Wii U retroactively the most unnecessary system to own of all time I am rather surprised that the original Xenoblade is being ported and not the Wii U exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles X. That seemed like a no brainer port to me.It’s probably only a matter of time.
