Better stock up on eshop cards starting in september.

So can you still buy stuff, you just need to go through the online store to add money?

Bingo. There's a new security regulation in place in Europe: the Switch and web eShops support it, the 3DS and Wii U don't.

Well that's slightly annoying, especially considering the 3DS is only recently deceased in terms of support. But not a massive problem at the end of the day

Query for NoE folks - if you have a Switch, can you use your credit card to add funds to your Nintendo Account, then go to the linked Wii U/3DS and spend them?
