UPDATE MAY 7: Nintendo has confirmed the games below will come to the lineup on May 15. Original story follows.

It looks as though May's NES lineup for the Switch Online app will feature plenty of climbing and riding.

Although no video confirmation for the second Wednesday in May has been revealed, Vooks found a listing on Nintendo of America's page for the NES list which includes under Upcoming Games:

Donkey Kong Jr and Clu Clu Land are both early/black box titles of the NES, while Vs Excitebike is a version of the bike racer originally released for the Famicom Disk System before releasing on the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2015.

Yeah...can they just add the SNES games already if this is the best they're willing to do for the NES lineup these days? It feels at this point that Nintendo's not only at the bottom of the barrel, but have clearly broken through it.

They have to run out of NES games they can add without license issues at some point. I'm hoping they announce some changes/expansions to the system at E3...or at least for the one year anniversary of Switch Online.

The NES library just wasn't that deep in terms of games that hold up today. I do think they're saving SNES games for closer to when people's year subscriptions are going to be up as a way of convincing people to stay subscribed.

It also doesn't help that Capcom and Konami either have or are releasing collections that have some of their biggest NES games on it that can be bought separately on Switch which eliminate them from appearing as well.  Most of the other major games are all license which I doubt Nintendo want to deal with.

Of course with this being a subscription service I imagine Nintendo probably could afford to get the license for some of these titles since they're not relying on individual downloads like the Wii and Wii U anymore.  But if they actually want to deal with getting these license is another matter.

I never played Clu Clu Land so I'm mildly curious about it...

I was also curious about Vs. ExciteBike, but never ended up downloading it on Wii U, so it's nice to see it here.
