A Persona 5 RPG is coming to Switch, but from a wholly unexpected source.
Atlus has revealed Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers at a Persona concert in Tokyo. No release window or time of more information was given, but the game is developed in collaboration with Koei Tecmo's Omega Force studio and is a musou.

It would be nice if the Switch could get a port of Persona 5 itself so that Nintendo fans have some idea of what the hell the game is referencing. With that and Joker appearing in SSB it all seems like a big tease.

You know it's rather funny how the traditional SMT games have been almost exclusive to Nintendo handhelds for the last decade and the upcoming SMT V is a Switch exclusive. And yet they never bother to try porting any of the main Persona games to any Nintendo systems. Even now with Joker in Smash Bros and the music references to Persona 3-5, they won't even bother?
Of course with Sony's new crackdown on games with sexual anime girls, we're probably only a few years away from Sony banning the Persona series from appearing on Playstation systems so next gen Nintendo might have Persona series exclusive as well. :P

Suddenly I'm reminded of the Wii days...

Since you mention the SMT games on the 3DS maybe Atlus is making a reasonably fair assumption that any serious SMT fan is going to own multiple systems anyway. Even if you're just into Persona you might have bought a 3DS for the Persona Q games while obviously owning some amount of Sony systems play the main Persona titles.
Though I think the obvious idea for Atlus is to port Persona 3, 4 and 5 to the Switch. It gets them all on a Nintendo platform and existing fans will probably double-dip for a portable Persona 5 and maybe with 3 and 4 as well if there are a few extras.

Then again, if this follows the trend...
Snake in Brawl on Wii, a Metal Gear game on 3DS... Cloud in Smash Wii U and 3DS, FF VII on Switch...
So can we expect Persona 5 (or 6) on Switch 2?

Persona 3 in particular doesn't have a definitive edition.
Persona 3 Portable and FES both have a bunch of exclusive features that aren't in the other version. It's great.

I have no interest in the Persona series, but I feel the sting of this from across the internet. Though with how prolific they are at ports of Persona games, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more at E3.
