Man,I can't wait for this game.I just wanted to know is anyone else excited about this game? I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan! Does anyone even like star wars games? So that being said:
"Who else is excited about Star Wars:Rebel Strike:Rogue Squadron III?"

You're not alone...I've already set aside my copy of the Rebel Strike promo disc...they're supposedly going to be free at my Best Buy on the 5th.

Is it just me or does it seem like the time difference between when RS3 was announced and the release date is extremely short? I think someone said RS2 took like 9 months to make...that's pretty friggin' quick! Factor 5 rules.

Can't say I'm really that hyped about it. Sure it looks good, but then so did Rogue Leader, but I didn't like the gameplay for being so shallow. Depending on the reviews I might get it, but not until I see how it compares to the previous one.

i dont think we will have to worry about the gameplay being shallow- the game features on foot missions, along with the ship battles- it looks like it will be fun but we will have to wait and see

Eh. The first one was good, but it was mostly a technical demo, at least to me. The gameplay was too arcade-ey. The sequel simply doesn't sound that interesting - I've never particularly wanted to play on-foot missions. Really, why would they make a sequel so quickly? Rogue Leader already covered most of the major battles of Star Wars. The sequel will have to use materials from the books and such, like the original Rogue Squadron. I'm sure RL2 will be a good game, it just doesn't interest me.

Yes, the RS series is pretty arcadie, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am concerned about what new things this game may present though. I get the feeling I've seen everything they're showing in Rebel Strike so I'd like to use some new ships and see some exotic locales. Co-Op is going to be awesome though and yes, Factor 5 is proving itself yet again to be technically way ahead of the curve.

Rouge Squadron 2 was made in a month. that's right A MONTH. If you don't believe me watch some of the videos and interviews u unlock in the game. That's amazing.

Rogue Squadron 2 wasn't made in a month. The first footage of the game was at SpaceWorld '00, I think. The game came at the GameCube launch in fall 2001. You simply can't make a game like this in a month.

The Spaceworld 2001-Rogue Squadron2 DEMO was made in a month. NOT the final game. Watch that interview again and pay attention.

It's just that I'm not sure if the bonus disc will come out here in Australia. It's just like Wind Waker all over again.........-__________- Hopefully it will though. I think I'll pay my local game store a visit during the week. ANd if i do pre-order it, I'll prolly get it a day earlier than everyone in Australia, just like i did when Wind Waker came out! I'd like to see them have missions without time limits/cut scenes everywhere. Make the game a little more sim-ish and complex, for instance ties should be able to lock onto you with missiles like in the pc games, just little things like that would help. Bump up the difficulty especially in the earlier missions. I'm not too excited about the on foot missions since I doubt they can pull it off well but hopefully they will be better than the ones in clone wars, those were horrendous. Co-op is what's really got me excited, is there a battle mode too?

Im not a Star Wars fan, never seen any of the movies, but im REALLY looking forward to this game after seeing some footage from it at ECTS. I downloaded a movie from Cube Europe i think, and i was at school, and i literally drew in a crowd of people saying "Whoa! what game is that?!". The graphics are amazing, im probably gonna buy it just for the graphics alone . I dont really like RS2 that much, but RS3 is looking really good.

I am more excited about the bonus disc than the game. I really want the 80s vector game on my TV. When I heard that it was on the disc, I knew I was getting the preorder. I will wait for reviews if I futher the investment and get RS. Probably will though, I have a lot of money and like to buy games and never open them; yah and monkeys can swim with 50lb weights tied too their legs.
Anyone hear when the preoder disc is coming out?

It ships from various online retailers on Sept. 3, and will be available at various retail outlets on Sept. 5.
. I dont really like RS2 that much, but RS3 is looking really good.
