I really didn't know Namco was developing all these games for the Gamecube.

From all those games, I'm getting Tales of Symphonia, I-Ninja, Soul Caliber II, Pac-Man, Baten Kaitos(if it comes). I need more impressions from Star Fox.

Replace Pac Man with Star Fox, and that's my list of games I will be getting from Namco.

Hard to believe anyone is looking forward to I-Ninja. Saw some screenshots a while back and it looked laughable to be honest...
Definetly looking forward to StarFox 2, Tales Of Symphonia and Soul Calibur II though.

I-Ninja looks freaking awesome! It's not meant to be taken seriously or internally.

G4 showed Star Fox 2. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

i think i-ninja is combining a lot of game genras to form its own kind of unique game with a great blend of gameplay personally i like that in the game- it looks plenty fun and hopefully it will turn out great but i think the rpg's from namco look the best so far- the reviews tales has gotten so far have been amazing- dengeki was quoted in saying that the game "was how an rpg should be like"- and they gave the game 38/40!!!! and baten kaitos is being made by 2 of my favorite rpg developers- monolith soft (of xeno fame) and tri-ace i think namco is spoiling us nintendo gamers with too many good games- i cant wait to see them all

HA! They put "Gamer's Hell" in the upper left corner of Donkey Konga. I love Namco and apparently they love me...er...Nintendo too. I want Tales more than ANYTHING. April 1 seems SO far away. At least I'll have an entire summer to finish it. I' also getting SC2 tomorrow.

Namco and Nintendo have a special relationship, from what I have heard. One formed upon mutual respect and mutual hatred of a certain rival company.
As for I-Ninja, I think it looks great

yeah! i agree with everyone that agrees that I-Ninja looks fun! it seems like its in a similar vein to Veiwtiful Joe, a game which i have been salavating over for quite a while *wipes keyboard* and still am! allthought i wont get pacman, it has no use to me, it does look quite fun, the more i hear about Donky Konga the more i want it, if its likened to a quirky yet great dreamcast game, then ill be all over it! . Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia im pre-ordering as soon as i possibly can, and i allready have Soul Calibur 2 pre-ordered. Namco have Cube love and it suits me just fine.

Namco is making up for shunning us in the N64 days. Namco recently made up with Nintendo at long last after a long and bitter feud, and it seems that they are VERY good friends now. Namco is even one of the developers of the Triforce (GameCube arcade hardware).

I'm still not quite sure what to think of Star Fox 2. The E3 build didn't impress me one bit. The characters themselves looked like something out of a first generation Nintendo 64 game, and the running around levels looked shocking.
R: Evolution looks quite cool, though. A racing game with a storyline! Hurray! As for Tales, well, I made up my mind that it was going to be a must buy from the first screens I saw of it.
Oh yeah, i-Ninja looks funky!

I only wish Nintendo and Square were as close- as of yet they only have 1 Gamecube game in the works, and it's not due out here until next year.

Namco, bless their souls(pun not intended). Needless to say, the most important title they are releasing is Tales of Symphonia. Please, dear god please, let this game kick so much ass it hurts.

Good news, Namco is also releasing Baten Kaitos next year in the US. Its seems that several third parties contacted Namco about bringing the game to US. Seeing the huge interest that BK was drawing Namco decided bring it over themselves. I'm already in debt, I guess I'll just have to add some more to the tally.

Im glad Namco is in good relations. The Fact that the GCN version of SC might be the best sellling is going to help.... When was the last time a Multi console game sold best on the Cube? A sign of better things to come i say

How do you know what goes on inside of Square?

I was already sure of this, since it's quite possibly the biggest thing in RPGs since Chrono Trigger, but I am just very glad to hear that it's official. The game is by far my most anticipated game.

That's good to hear, another $80(Canadian) out of my wallet. But, I doubt it'll be a huge success here or Japan.

i dont know about that- namco expects to ship and sell 500,000 copies of the game when released- they posted the same kind of figures with tales of symphonia- namco usually meets or beats their sale expectations so i hope the game is a hit- it should be with the developers they have for it

I think there actually is a good reason for Namco giving us so much support, at least with RPG's. Square owns PS2 RPG's. It would be hard to compete. On Gamecube, they can come in, give us some kick ass RPGs and have them sell great because they have no other competition.

"I only wish Nintendo and Square were as close"
F*ck square lol , their but a shadow of their old self and only now since the merger with Enix have they taken a step back in the right direction IMO. Besides, since we have namco and Monolith contributin to nintendo, what more do we want. Zenogears was my fav square rpg since ff3 and crono trigger and we both know who was responsible for that game and now we that said developer on our side along with a few key heads from the crono trigger and cross team to boot. I wouldnt mind havin square back so they can supply these fluffer rpgs to hold us up till the true rpgs come out like ToS and BK(which the more I hear and see of it , the more I want it) As for BK not sellin well here or in japan, I found that hard to believe. Here in the US it might not sell as much as I would like but in japan its goin to sell like hotcakes just by word of mouth. They eat rpgs up in japan and who in their right minds will pass up that 5 star dish.

Well basically Namco got burned by the PS2 at launch. Their titles didn't sell as well as expected and they posted their first fiscal loss in ten years. They lost 55 million dollars and few months later announced the Gamecube as their target platform. Sony attempted some damage control and was able to "convince" Namco not to bring Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 4 to GC. By convince, I mean pay off : ) All the same Namco realized the danger of being confined to one platform and thats when they and Nintendo repaired their frost relationship and Namco announced about a half dozen exclusive GC titles. They've also sprinkled a few titles on X-box. All in all, there deal with Nintendo seems to be working out quite well for them.

Baten Kaitos isn't even in the top 30 Japanese most wanted games list. Five star dish??? There's no proof yet.

I know there is no proof yet but odds are highly favoring it given who's behind the project. Monolith has yet to dissapoint in an rpg and I dont see how they goin to start now given that they are goin to be gettin even more help from other veterans in the feild besides themselves. I hold monolith in higher regards than squaresoft in this generation but thats just my opinion. Also, I'll like to see this japanese 30 most wanted list that you speak of. BK has been in developement for 2 yrs or so and just recently has it been unvieled and still little is known bout it. That top 30 most wanted list in japan only holds any weight in this arguement dependin on what time it was made. If that list was made not to long ago then you have to take in account that most people might not have heard about BK or didnt know much bout it to really get much interest in it. It all depends on what timeframe that list was made though.
