Title: Anyone here play Neverwinter Nights?
Post by: Oldskool on August 19, 2003, 11:49:48 AM
I got it two months ago and it is the best PC D&D game I've played yet (I'm an experienced AD&D and 3rd edition player, and have played all the infinity engine games except for Icewind Dale 2.) My charactor in single player is a level 7 half-elf ranger who is in the early parts of Chapter 2. Anyone else play this excellent game of Dungeons and Dragons?

i just got it only about a month ago- it is by far the best computer rpg out there and the best use of the d&d rules yet i love bioware- they made many good games, and this may be their best (with knights close to it) i am a fighter lv. 17 in the middle of chp. 3- the story i thought was dull at first but it picks up really nicely toward chp 2's end by far one of my favorite rpgs of all time and my favorite on the computer

I played it and promply got bored. A lot of my friends enjoyed it, however. A well designed game but just didn't hold me. The online play was fun for a night, but the single player lost me fast.

wow- yeah i can understand if the gameplay didnt satisfy at first- it didnt for me either- but i stuck with it and by the end of the first chapter i was hooked- i loved doing all the quests (especially the hard ones such as the henchmen quests) and i just got a sence of accomplishment when i did the stuff- the story as i have said is quite dull until the second chapter- thats where it really picks up and kept me going- i love the game and it truely is my favorite pc rpg right now- bioware is a great developer and can really make some great games based off of the d&d rule sets

A friend i know throught the internet has this game, he also owns every console and this is by far his favorite game. I want it so bad, but I don't know if it will run on my computer... I have 500 mhz, 128 mb ram, NVidia Vanta with 8 mb SDram, is my computer powerful enough? it doesn't quite meet the suggested specs on the game's box...please let me know ASAP!
also I believe the gameplay could take some hours for it to be fun, Tactics Ogre and Xenosaga are like that... and they're quickly becoming my fav rpgs, Xenosaga is better than the Final Fantasies

these are the regular system requirements: · System: PII 450 or equivalent · RAM: 128 MB RAM · CD-ROM: 8X CD-ROM · Video Memory: 16 MB VRAM · Hard Drive Space: 1300 MB · Mouse: Yes · Sound Board: Yes · DirectX: DirectX v8.1 and these are the recommended system requirements: System: PIII 800 or equivalent · RAM: 256 MB RAM · CD-ROM: 8X CD-ROM · Hard Drive Space: 2048 MB
i have a pretty high end computer so the game runs real well on mine- no slowdown or anything of the sort but the game does feature full 3d graphics for everything so you would probably want a fast computer to run the game properly- hope this helps

thank you sounds like it will run on my computer ok if i set the graphics a bit lower than it's defaults, if i ever get enough free time to give this game justice i'll pick it up, but it's gonna have to come second to FFTactics Advance

I ve just started getting into PC RPGs, so i haven't played it yet. I'm starting with Planescape Torment(great), and i have Fallout and Baldurs Gate to get through. I'll probably pick it up.

It works really slowly on my computer. I need to get a new graphics card. The funny thing is, I have 2.0 GHz and 256 RAM!
