Title: Toys R Us sales data
Post by: Berto2K on August 04, 2003, 03:00:39 PM
Credit goes to triple_s17 in the ign boards for this one. Gotta love leaked corporate sales. He says these numbers are for the last week up through yesterday. These are ranked in order of profit from the sales, not number of units sold.
Here are the Top 15 selling games at TRU 15)Ps2 enter the matrix -1,130 14)GCN Wario World -1,133 13)PS2 NBA street 2 -1,246 12)GBA Sonic 2 -2,111 11)GBA DBZ Goku 2 -2,229 10)GCN Sonic DX -1,674 9)GCN Zelda Wind Waker -1,566 8)GBA finding Nemo -2,349 7)GBA Donkey Kong -2,872 6)X-box Kotor -1,775 5)Ps2 NCAA football 2004 -2,113 4)GBA Pokemon Saphire -3,194 3)GBA yu-gi-oh Stair -2,837 2)GBA pokemon Ruby -3,588 ... 1)GCN Mario Golf! -4,363
Now for the systems individual numbers..then the totals for the different ps2, x-box, and gcn bundles/styles
now here are the total system numbers for teh PS2, X-box, GCn, GBA sp, and GBA
GBASP-11,827 GBA 4,657 PS2-4,123 GCN-2,538 X-box -1,723
Its a wonder what a little advertising can do for a product. Let people know whats out there and they will come. Oh, and lets not forget the games either.

Good to see Mario Golf doing well, even though these might be fake, never should trust 100% in sales data from other forums. But either way, good to see Mario Golf doing well, or seeing that there will always be GC fanboys faking sales data in means of propaganda.

Is he a newbie with less than a hundred posts, and been there couple months(tops?) If he has been months then he should be pretty trustworthy(Unless he is a mario gold fanatic who joined just so he could post propaganda )

Toys R Us is awsome, but why do they have random consoles for sale? Sometimes there will be the Genesis 3's and sometimes Game Gears. I'm waiting for a Saturn, but I'll doubt thats going to happen.

He could be bluffing, and I don't know if forging results is a bannable offense on IGN- if it is I don't think he'd want to risk his account for a prank.

they have random consoles like that, because they have not sold out their stock of them yet. (you won't see Saturns there, unless it's rereleased, and that ain't gonna happen, unless Majesco......) next time you see the Game Gears check to see if Majesco is anywhere on the cases.
Majesco bought the rights from Sega to rerelease the Game Gear a couple years after it had died out. They rereleased it for $29.99, so it's probably even cheaper now. Rumor has it though, that the Majesco version doesn't work with the TV Tuner. But then, how many people actually own a TV Tuner? LOL, I did.... (not anymore, sold it for 75 bucks credit years ago)

The Mario Golf numbers don't surprise me. It's a very solid, polished fantasy sports title that has come in the middle of the summer game dry spell. Nintendo and Camelot couldn't have picked a better time to get this out the door.

No kidding I have been seriously considering going out and getting it, just cause I want a new game, not because I'm a huge golf or Mario sports fan. I decided to rent it to see if I like it, not worth the $50, but a great game I will have to pick up on a deal somewhere. But a great time to release it to get a lot more people looking at it that might otherwise pass it up.
