Title: Lithium-Ion Wavebird

I was thinking it sucks wasting batteries in my wave bird, but i like the wireless play.  So i was wondering what about putting the lithium-Ion battery that is in the GBA SP into the wave bird so you just have to recharge the battery every week or so.  Would this add alot of cost to the wavebird, would this make more power  for a rumble feature? what do you guys think

I like the idea of a rechargable battery.  I have not bought the Wavebird for two reasons.  One is the rumble feature missing, the other is that I do not need one more thing to buy batteries for let alone FOUR!

well i dont think the SP one would be that good of an idea, perhaps a smaller one, because i would assume the wavebird would use less batteries than the SP. it is a good idea though, very good!

i dont have a wavebird, but isn't it pretty bulky at the front where the rumblepack is ment to be? and if so wouldn't adding that make it rather heavy/bulky?

Buy the Peilcan G3 Wireless. It performs just about as well as the WaveBird, it has rumble and it only uses 2 AA batteries, which last a good 6 months or so - plus it's about $5 cheaper than the WaveBird

Thats the one I use. I like it 'cause you can turn the rumblr off, since some gams do not use it, and turn it on when you need it. The batteries seem to last forever.

if the pelican lasts 6 months, how long does the wavebird last?
is it really that bad if these things last that long, to need to use rechargeables?

for my GBA, i just goto a wholesale store and pick up a pack of 24 AA batteries for like 10 bucks.

also be careful to only recharge batteries on the charger they came with, using a different charger to recharge batteries can have bad consequences.

I believe they are supposed to last for similar amounts of time, although the WaveBird uses 4 batteries as opposed to the G3 Wireless' 2 AAs.

First of all the wavebird only uses two AA batteries not 4.  Also there is now a rechargeable battery pack for the wavebird available from some third party.  I got it for $15 and have only seen it at Software Etc.  It fits perfectly into the back of the wavebird and I would recommend it to everyone.
