The first major update to Pokémon Shuffle for 3DS was released overnight, with several new tweaks and features.

Version 1.3 includes a new Survival Mode, which uses three hearts (in game plays) and lets you challenge various in game stages with a set number of moves for special rewards. Mission cards, which give rewards for accomplishing certain tasks in the game's existing stages.

New powerups and indicators have also been added to the title, along with bugfixes and updated scoreboards for competitive stages that track the requirements for various prize levels.

Gave up on this game ages ago. F2P/P2W games that make it virtually impossible to progress without paying real money have no place on my systems - Pokemon Picross is fine; you could theoretically do the entire game without paying a cent so long as you're patient and do the daily training; I've only spent like $5 on it and am on world 28. But I'm fully convinced that some of the levels in Shuffle are literally impossible without using a slew of expensive items.

I'd have to disagree.  I've been more frustrated with Pokemon Picross.  That's the one I feel you can't advance in.  I flew through the first through "worlds" then started hitting the 100+ picrite paywalls, or the levels where you need a Mega Pencil that costs 500 picrites.  Ridiculous.


With this game (Pokemon Shuffle) I'm on level 225 and haven't spent any money.  You could apply your tactic of being patient and playing daily to consistently advance in this game.  I'd say give it another shot.
