All the toy destroying action, none of the microtransactions.

Pokémon's 20th anniversary celebration will carry into April in North America.

A retail version of April 2015 free-to-start release Pokémon Rumble World will release in North America on April 29 for $29.99 US. This rollup release has been out in Japan since December and Europe/Australia for a few weeks.

Rumble World featured a hard limit on microtransactions that gave unlimited amounts of jewels - the game's currency used to unlock levels - when the equivalent of $30 US was spent; perhaps as a direct result it became one of the eShop's highest-grossing titles according to Nintendo's financial statements.

I wish more companies followed this framework with there F2Play/Start games. I would much rather pay 20-40 to unlock the game completely versus being micro transationed to death.

Does this game have worthwhile gameplay?  A lot of F2Play games don't have much substance under the scam of paying money to speed up cooldowns between actions.  If you removed the pay element the resulting game would be pretty limiting.  In a world where microtransactions was never a thing would this game hold up as a retail release?

I wonder how the unlock system will work in this version. If you just get all those jewels at the start, you could unlock things a little too quickly, perhaps.

I actually thought part of the fun of the eShop version was seeing how far I could get without spending money, so I don't think I'd buy this version.
