Post by: Mario on July 16, 2003, 07:49:53 PM
Dengeki GC have scored Pokemon Channel a solid "8, 7, 9, 7" in the latest issue. Pokemon Channel ships in Japan this weekend. Im really interested in Pokemon Channel, it sounds like an awesome game. But im wondering when it comes out in America and PAL... anyone know?

It's going to take a freaking miracle to make me interested in the game.  I saw the game and was instantly reminded of "Hey You Pikachu", which I think is right up there in the list of "Worst games of all time".

I just read at Cube-Europe that Pokemon Channel has a secret Pokemon in it! Jirachi, can only be found in Pokemon Channel for GC. Jirachi is the Ruby/Sapphire equivalent of Mew and Celebi. Cool

I too still remember the horror that was "Hey, You Pikachu!"... but I am still going to be looking into this game. "Hey You Pikachu!" was a great concept, but horribly, horribly executed in both graphics and gameplay. Pokemon Channel looks like it will be more than yelling at Pikachu to pick up a stupid apple for half an hour.

As a side note, does anybody think it's odd that neither of the upcoming Pokemon GC games aren't cel-shaded? I mean, with a popular cartoon series still on the air I would think that would be an obvious choice.

Nintendo says that they like to try a variety of styles, and that they wouldn't use cel-shading too much, so it doesn't surprise me.
