So, when I was hosting, I mentioned that the word was a video game. In other versions of the game, 20 questions, the answerer may state that it is a vegetable, animal, mineral, famous person, occupation, place, etc.
Unless this thing comes directly from the Milton Bradley Game of Life, I suggest being more clear about the theme in order to get players interested.

Is this a video game that you would play with a controller or is it an interactive video game like Scene It where you have to pop in a DVD and watch different scenes play out on an electronic screen thus crossing the line into video game?

Although I guess you could say that using the DVD remote is like using a controller so that might not be the best way to separate the two. Plus, there are arcade games which don't really have a controller but rather a control panel. And then there's PC. Is the keyboard considered a controller since it can be used to input commands to manipulate things on the monitor's video screen?

Let me be more specific then. Was the game released in North America in the last 3 years meaning Nov 12, 2015 - Nov. 1, 2012? If the game has been released twice in the 5 year time span, I'm going by the original release date of the game, not by a re-release date. You can check Wikipedia which has the release dates for games by region to double check your dates.
Gonna take a break now and go watch some TV. I'm sure Shyguy can finish up from here thanks to my brilliant questioning.

When I made my list, I was thinking Devil's Third also so I think you've got it but since we've got so many questions yet, I felt it best to keep whittling down the list to be sure. With no W, that leaves the list of possible games as the following:
