Title: My GC is noisy wiht Blood Omen 2...
Post by: jaz013 on July 14, 2003, 03:03:46 PM
It's the game or the console?, because in some parts, it makes a chirring sound (or something like clack, clack, clack). I don't know, the cube is new (about 2 weeks) and my old, broken GC do the same sound with that game.    --- ---

It's your Gamecube wailing in pain for having to play that crappy game.  You must take game out and burn it and get your Gamecube checked out by an authorized Nintendo repair place or call them for assistance.

my gamecube is pretty noisy all the time, and i've had it since launch. i've never had a single problem with it though. it seems that games with lots of fmv seem to be much worse. could this maybe be the problem with bo2? i've heard the game has loads of cutscenes but i've never played it.

Mine chirps a lot, occassionally kind of loud, but it's nothing even resembling a problem.  And aside from one glitch in SMS (which was not the system's fault), I've had no problems whatsoever with it.

My GC made those clicking thumping noises whilst reading the Metroid Prime disc. I'd say it's normal.

Its just the whole cd assembly moving since you can notice the cd tray thing(the black thing by where you put the cd in)  moves if you press down on it gently. And it makes the lense to be aligned. You only notice these noises mostly on FMV's or in game movies.

edit: changed some wording and added more

Wow, I wish I were a mod.  Because then i could say that double posting is hazardous to the health or something witty before locking one of your threads on this.  but alas...I am not.

Anyway, I've learned to live with the squirrel like sounds that come out of my Cube.  To all of you who haven't read the Technical Discussion version of this thread, i've named the squirrel "Papaya Squirrel" and he's now one of my friends.  And there is absolutley nothing wrong with my brain.

My GCN doesn't seem to make sounds, at least none that have never bored their way in enough to break my concentration whilst playing in videogame heaven.

OMG flying monkeys are the scariest thing ever.  Do not, I repeat, do NOT even kid about flying monkeys.  Ever seen the Wizard of Oz?

*looks up*

Whew.... no monkeys.

My GC makes those loud noises with Eternal Darkness, sometimes it even gets the Disc Read Error screen during cut scenes.

O well..., i guest i'll get to concentrated in the game more than in the sounds the cube does. If only the game were a little more entreteining (actuallly, and just finishing it to make the 90 pesos (9 dollars) i pay for it). Ooo, and the sound, it's no like a squrriel, it's more like ching, ching, ching, you know, the sound it makes when you turn on the GC and it start to read the game.

Like I said its just the Cube's disc drive doing it cause the whole disc drive assembly slightly moves with the lense.
