Title: I just bought a used copy of Excite Truck

What am I doing with my life? Am I turning into of those collectors? Am I at the point in my life where the best games are behind me? Why was it so hard for me to find until now?
The worst part is, I don't want to play it until I get the Y cable for my new Wii U ext. hard drive, So I have to wait until Monday.

That just means you have plenty of time to get your SD card ready. Really put some thought into your soundtrack.

I wiped my SD card since the last time I played Excite Truck, but when I made my custom soundtrack in 2007 it was mostly made up of Trivium's Ascendancy album and Avenged Sevenfold's Waking the Fallen. Might have to make a new set list.

I never made a custom soundtrack for Excite Truck (and only bought a copy of the game recently, like you, so maybe I will make one now.)
But I did make one for Endless Ocean which I recall being way more complicated that it needed to be. Mainly because, if I remember correctly, you had to pick one and only one track before entering a dive. Then that track would just loop. So the complicated bit came from crudely stringing together different tracks with some PC tool to make one long-ass mp3 that you could then use in-game. Good times. I don't remember all the songs I used, I think most were instrumental, but I do remember sticking Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" in there somewhere. That was funny.

Yeah, I made one for Endless Ocean as well.
This game is pretty sweet. Did it not sell well or something?

This was a cool game, though the sequel is better. I ended up using the Tetrisphere soundtrack which worked surprisingly well, makes me wonder what other game soundtracks might work with it.
I was disappointed that so few games used this feature, it's neat. I know of only two and they've been mentioned.

I think custom soundtracks was a built in feature on the 360, wasn't it? Nobody really used it much.

The only time I made a custom soundtrack on the 360 was for Forza 3. It was a pain in the ass.

You should. It's a damn shame you can't play online anymore, though, and with the way it sold there's no way we get a new one.

If you like this game then definitely get ExciteBots at some point. Although I think the goofy vehicle designs are stupid, the gameplay and track designs are better. No custom soundtracks though, unfortunately.
