Just in time for the launch of Mario Party 10!

The heavily-rumored gold Mario Amiibo is coming to Walmart as a retailer exclusive, according to a leaked promotional poster.

Apparently Nintendo is tying the release of this exclusive figurine to the launch of Mario Party 10, which is scheduled for release on March 20. Whether this is some sort of pre-order incentive or special bundle remains to be seen.

Nintendo has yet to confirm the validity of this news, so stay tuned for a formal announcement. In the meantime, check out our comprehensive Amiibo guide.

Phew... that was close. For a minute, I thought that just anybody might be able to get one of these Amiibo figures. Glad to hear that they are going to be appropriately rare and difficult to obtain.

Once again Uncle Bob will take this as an opportunity to deprive all the families across the country from aquiring one of these, by purchasing all the copies and only trading with scalpers on ebay whilst securing a large number for his personal Nintendo shrine memorial museum collection.

I think you more have L.A. to blame than Nintendo on this one, if they kept Wal-Mart out.

Yeah, just look up UncleBob on ebay. He should have plenty for sale at a high price. Just promise you aren't buying it for your kids or something, and have every intent to resell it at an even higher price at some point down the road, and he'll save you one.
