Nintendo has provided an explanation detailing how Amiibo functionality works with The Legend of Zelda spin-off, Hyrule Warriors. Using the Link Amiibo in the game gives players the Spinner weapon first seen in Twilight Princess. Other figures will unlock a random material in Hyrule Warriors.

The Amiibo support will be added in an update later this month alongside the upcoming Twilight Princess DLC pack.

Hyrule Warriors was released in Japan on August 14, Europe on September 19 and North America on September 26. The Link amiibo figurine will launch alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, which will release in North America on November 21 with other regions following shortly after.
