This is what it’s like when pinball, ghosts, battles, and Mega Man all collide.

Even though Yokai Watch 2 is the main event for many Japanese gamers this week (namely children), there are still a wide variety of titles releasing on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops as well. Speaking of Yokai Watch 2, just in case you missed it, the entire Yokai Watch 2 Nintendo Direct event is up in its entirety on the Japanese eShop. For those of you out there without a Japanese 3DS that want to check it out, you can view it here.

Other than Yokai Watch, the 3DS is home to a few more demos and digital comics this week, but sadly the shop is still void of a new Virtual Console release. Nevertheless, the Wii U is getting some entertaining VC games from a handful of different systems. Mega Man Battle Network is here along with the Famicom shooter Battle City and the pinball alien adventure, Alien Crush for the PC Engine. Ah, Battle City.

Probably the most popular console game in CIS countries (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDCW_hXrU1E) that is mostly completely unknown anywhere else.

I remember Battle City as game 31 in 31-in-1. Very rote single screen strategy shooter game.

Battle City sounds like the title of a Neo-Geo game, as per the old RFN naming convention for the system.
