#2 and #9, respectively.
The NPD Group released their numbers for May, with Mario Kart 8 and Kirby: Triple Deluxe charting.
For the two days it was out in May, Mario Kart 8 managed to take the #2 spot. Kirby: Triple Deluxe, which was released at the beginning of May, came in at #9. The number one game of the month was Watch Dogs, which is still slated for a release on the Wii U. The Amazing Spider Man 2 and Call of Duty: Ghosts, which have incarnations on Nintendo systems, also ranked this month at #6 and #10, respectively.
Compared to 2013, retail sales were up 52%, hardware sales were up 95%, and software sales were up 57% percent.
Mario Kart: Not surprising. Kirby: Quite surprising. Lack of Mario Golf: Disappointing, I wonder if the season pass hullabaloo had anything to do with it.No RPG mode, no charting. Nice. Hopefully Nintendo will learn when the games come out on the 4DS. Sucks I'll be playing the GBA iterations for another 3-5 years, but sometimes rough love is the best kind of love.
btw, the headline has "Kirby Ultra Deluxe" for some reason.
