New (old) ways to play!
Price points regarding the GameCube adapter for Wii U, the Smash Bros. GameCube controller, and a game bundle including all of the above have been revealed.
The adapter will let up to four original GameCube or WaveBird controllers play on the Wii U, and will have an MRSP of $19.99. The new GameCube controller is emblazoned with a Smash Bros. logo, and will sell for $29.99. Or, for $99.99, a special bundle will be available that includes Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, one GameCube controller, and one adapter.
The game, controller, and adapter are scheduled to release on the same day during this holiday season.
Huh, the bundle seems a bit pricey. It's pricey for what it is, but the game, controller, and adapter are more expensive separately ($60+$30+$20).
The new GameCube controller plugs into the Wiimote, not the GameCube adapter, right?
I still want to know if this adapter works on the second generation Wii and Wii Minis. Someone at E3, ask for me, will ya?Will it work in wii mode?
Then, like a week or so later, Nintendo stole their thunder entirely and announced they're releasing a Gamecube adapter (which uses two USB ports) that accepts actual Gamecube controllers.
Alright, I can get a new Cube controller!
