Hyrule Warriors producer Hisashi Koinuma, development producer Yosuke Hayashi, and supervisor Eiji Aonuma revealed new details for the game, including a release date of September 26, during a development story in Nintendo's E3 Digital Event.

The creators stated there will be a lot of playable characters, including Princess Zelda, Impa, Midna, and of course Link himself. Multiple battles will be happening simultaneously on the field at once, and players will receive warnings to help allies when in need. Giant bosses will also appear in the game, and players will have to "think about how to beat them".

A two-player mode was also revealed, but it will not be split screen. One player will use the TV, while the other can utilize the GamePad to play together.

Play as Midna? Sold.

The lack of split-screen multiplayer is super lame.

How is the lack of split screen multiplayer lame? Splitting between the TV and the GamePad gives each player the full screen. Why in the world would you want split screen co-op when you have have 2-screen co-op?

Better Gamepad support than MK8.

But seriously, I think I'd prefer it that way.

Really cool and the trailer and Treehouse gameplay hyped me for this title immensely. :)
